I have just had my first ever Oreo, quickly followed by my 2nd 3rd and 4th ever Oreos. I've heard about them, obviously, they're quite big in the US apparently but this is the first time I can remember them being advertised on the telly here.
Well the Mrs. arrived home with a box today and, as I said, I've just tried them and they are good. Almost a cross between a custard cream and a bourbon, which, if you think about it, is a cross that should have been made years ago.
I could get quite fond of Oreos. I don't know how much they cost, I just asked the Mrs. and she doesn't know either except that they were on offer.
Anyway I just thought I'd post a recommendation.

You'd be surprised!

The biscuits seems a dark colour? I don't expect the Co-op will be selling them yet, but when they do, I will try a packet.

Tasty, but very high in calories, even compared to other biscuits!

What is a biscuit?

Doesn't he play for FC Barcelona?

No it isn't...

A biscuit is like a small loaf of bread that you eat with fried chicken... some people dip the biscuit in gravy or put butter on it.

This is a UK based forum and the main language used on here is British English. American English is a variant of the proper language but they do have many things wrong including a great many wrong spellings and the name of just about every part of a car (that's car as opposed to automobile).
Cookie and biscuit are just further examples of the many errors in the US interpretation of the English language. What you call biscuits are closer to a dumpling or doughboy/doughball.
Another one is the strange use of the word 'world' to mean the USA and Canada :?

Well there's another thing, literature is really written works (novels, plays and the like) what we are talking about here is more English usage than English literature. I think that may be more a Kdub thing than a US English thing though

I have to say that even though the Americans don't really know what a biscuit is, they certainly know how to make them. I'm now a confirmed Oreo fan. What other popular US biscuits are available in the UK?
I might have to give them a try.

The only competition to Oreo's are

Nilla Wafers
Soft Batch
Famous Amos
Mrs. Fields
Those Famous "girl scout" cookies

Ironically a girl scout here is known as a brownie - which is also a type of biscuit, sorry cookie.

Or is it a cake :?

Also I note that Domino's make an Oreo pizza.
