League Cup Semi-Final Leg One Results:

Goals from Roga and Matty B were cancelled out by DanCaek and a late equalizer from gjkendall, Arsenal have to be favoutites now.

At Fratton Park Knotty and Dronning Maud Land opened up a 2 goal lead before Richt replied for the Hammers, though steve-lee's goal in the second half looks to half given Portsmouth an advantage.

Gameweek 30 Fixtures:

Arsenal v West Ham

Game of the week (1) Joint top, London derby, doesn't get any bigger than this. Arsenal bring in Razorback to add sharpness to the attack, while West Ham welcome back mcnegox for the suspended Mercer. Arsenal could find themselves in the Cup Final this week as well...prediction 2-2

Aston Villa v Southampton

Game of the week (2) The battle of the two Champions. 10th place Villa take on joint top Southampton, just three points ahead of them. Both teams are unchanged, little between them on paper...prediction 1-1

Brighton & Hove Albion v Derby County

The game the phrase '6-pointer' was invented for. If either team ends up a loser it could be a serious step in the wrong direction. Liverpool must surely win a game soon, and when they do, one of these two will look favourites for the drop...prediction 2-1

Everton v Leeds

There's a serious sickness in the Leeds camp this week. A contagious virus has swept through the squad, making them easy meat for Everton this week I think. Leeds bring in Greebynog and andybarrell as Everton strengthen their midfield with Scottofee. Face-masks at the ready this won't be pretty...prediction 3-0

Ipswich v Chelsea

Ipswich may be in 8th but they're only a point behind Chelsea. The leaders didn't look up for the fight against Villa last week and if WHATEVER can continue his run of form this could be a home win. amcal59 takes over from 5 long bones in goal as Jim Royal makes a rare appearance from the bench...prediction 3-2

Man Utd v Liverpool

United should be rubbing their hands in glee at the arrival of their great foes. Liverpool are in a sorry state, having won just once this season. They try to plug the gaps in defence by dropping Grob and bringing in Mintman. United, ably led by UEM welcome back Giggs11 and Bob Newhart...prediction 2-0

Nottingham Forest v Crystal Palace

Forest should be going into this match with their spirits high after taking the points at Anfield last week, but the arrival of Palace brings with it a certain sense of trepidation. Palace were awesome in defeating Arsenal and any repeat of that form should be too good for a Forest team lacking real confidence. Forest are unchanged, Palace have nevblake back for the out of sorts Eagle224...prediction 1-2

Portsmouth v Hull

Top scorers Portsmouth play host to free-scoring Hull, goal-feast perhaps. Portsmouth may save themselves for their cup semi-final and Hull could capitalize. they bring back perivar after his fitness problems, Aardvark taking a back-seat...prediction 2-3

Rangers v Newcastle

A short away trip for once as Newcastle bring their own brand of crazy football to the under-performing Jocks. Rangers have pa102aw in their team for the first time in ages, the old boy able to play only rarely these days. Newcastle will hope to inflict more misery on the pre-season favourites...prediction 0-1

Stoke v Tottenham

Tottenham showed more of their attacking style last week against Portsmouth and keep the same team that played so well. Stoke ditch Takeshi Kovacs again, SUZYKINS returning...prediction 1-2

Two wins on the bounce for Villa and we're in business.

If we've played 10 with 8 gameweeks to go, how is this going to work?

If you look at the tables in the first post you'll see the seasons have 19 and 18 games. This one has 18.

Devastating result for Chelsea this week ...
knocked off the top by Ipswich even tho 3 of our 4 players beat their opposing number,
and then wiped by Arsenal in the League ...

Week 31 Fixtures

Aston Villa 5 - 4 Everton

The Champions not quite back to their best, but they'll take the three points after a hard-fought victory over Everton. Now in a group of six teams on 19 points, Villa scored two early goals and held on as Everton hit the woodwork in the dying minutes. gazwood and Colbert scoring for the home side, moonlightdribbler replying for the visitors..Motm Colbert

Chelsea 6 - 6 Leeds

This week we played using UEFA's new 120 minute game rule and there were many goals as players filled their boots. No more so than at Stamford Bridge where these two great rivals shared 12 goals! A hat-trick for Matty B and two for mkc0303 looked to have grabbed the points for the home side, but Bandit's great 5-goal spell in the second half took the Motm honours.

Derby 4 - 5 Crystal Palace

Derby are still in trouble at the bottom after this expected defeat. Palace joint second and never really in danger despite conceding 4 late goals...Motm nevblake

Hull 4 - 5 Newcastle

Great game played out between these two mid-table teams. Hull were their usual high-scoring selves, but the class of allwaysonthebeer shone through. He scored a glorious winner after equalizing seconds earlier. Defeat from the jaws of victory for Hull's new manager...Motm allwaysonthebeer

Ipswich Town 6 - 3 Man Utd

Ipswich will not go away. They now have a two point gap at the top and will be hard to dislodge. The visit of United saw them at their very best, great team-work and tactical awareness. Man Utd had no answer, even UEM had a rare off-day...Motm flyingkillercob

Liverpool 6 - 4 Brighton

The battle between the bottom two was won resoundingly by Liverpool. Brighton can see the trap-door opening, this was their seventh defeat and they are now three points adrift. BravoT was particularly disappointing in the Brighton goal, letting through everything that came his way, only Ironfist and fil16 put up any resistance...Motm Mintman

Rangers 5 - 5 Portsmouth

This was Rangers' seventh draw in eleven matches and certainly looked a better performance than many this season. Portsmouth scored freely, but couldn't break clear. This will do them the world of good before their cup final later this week. Dronning Maud Land did his player of the season chances no harm at all with this Motm.

Southampton 6 - 2 Stoke

This was a bit of a slaughter, Southampton are certainly back in the hunt now after a few good results and their goal-difference is second best in the league. The less said about Stoke the better, they are becoming a hard team to like, though SUZYKINS has to be held up as particularly poor today...Motm JD007

Tottenham 3 - 2 Arsenal

The league leaders didn't fancy this derby much. Ashers refused to come out for the second half after someone in the crowd called him a name. Spurs nearly blew it themselves when blueprint got himself sent off, but bagpuss saved the penalty and there was little the outstanding DanCaek could do to get them back into it. Their minds maybe on the cup final, they'll need to be better than this...Motm bagpuss

West Ham Utd 3 - 2 Nottingham Forest

If any team is going to prevent Brighton slipping out of the league it's the awful Forest. They've scored the least goals of any team in the league and have too many players not concentrating on the game. West Ham lost mcnegox to injury but the remaining three were good enough to take the points...Motm freckles.

Wow how much can change in the space of 2 gameweeks. Start of gameweek 29 Chelsea was on top. Two weeks later we're 9th after a loss and high scoring 6-6 draw.

GW 12 Fixtures

Arsenal v Southampton

In any normal week this would be match of the day. 4th hosts 3rd and this will have the purists purring. The disgraced Ashers is replaced by Razorback and home advantage could swing it...Prediction 2-1

Brighton v Rangers

Brighton see Rangers disappearing over the hill in the relegation battle and will be frantic to drag them back. The Scottish representatives are on the up, but finding it hard to get a win. Both teams unchanged...Prediction 1-1

Crystal Palace v Liverpool

Palace are in seventh but on the same points as Portsmouth in 2nd. They are unchanged as they welcome Liverpool to South London. Liverpool are feeling better about themselves having beaten Brighton well last week. They change captains, Krispy handing over to Mintman, though Krispy still plays. Kitkatshuffler impressed in the reserves and so comes in for Grob...Prediction 2-1

Everton v West Ham

Tough match up for West Ham, who have been a little lucky with their opponents so far. Everton are scoring better and will hope to get back in the hunt, they bring in Scottoffee for Bunners. West Ham drop the injured mcnegox, Mercer returning...Prediction 3-1

Leeds v Aston Villa

Villa would hope to win here, but Leeds are winning games again and could surprise. Under captain Bandit, they've been improving, Flamingalah is back for andybarrell this week. Villa are unchanged. Prediction 2-2

Man Utd v Chelsea

Chelsea seem to have dropped out of contention, finding themselves in 9th place after leading recently. They will hope to beat the Mancs here. Five Long Bones is back for amcal59. United change bert and Giggs for Owen and hifromsriram...Prediction 1-2

Newcastle v Derby

Great win at Hull for Newcastle last week and this should be easy enough. derby are not scoring enough and will be lucky to get anything here. Newcastle bring spudder in for topknotchbloke...Prediction 2-0

Nottingham Forest v Tottenham

The rot has set in at Forest and Tottenham will arrive in the midlands full of expectation. The impressive RememberTheTitans returns for the suspended blueprint. With Doogal playing well and new-boy Count settling in well, an away victory is odds-on...Prediction 1-2

Portsmouth v Ipswich

Game of the week, Portsmouth in second, host the league leaders Ipswich. The Fratton Park support could sway it for the south coast side. Ipswich are playing with confidence, Jim Royal takes a day off, Tacalabala returning...Prediction 2-1

Stoke v Hull

The ESPN game will not be getting great viewing figures. Stoke look a shambles at present, only bossdrum looking anywhere near fit enough. Hull score well, but their all or nothing style leaks goals. Aardvark is replaced by perivar yet again...Prediction 1-2

League Cup Final

This game was a very uncompetitive affair. Portsmouth were up for it from the kick off, their talisman Dronning Maud Land fired in the opening goal from 25 yards and Knotty doubled their advantage before half time.

steve_lee got his name on the score-sheet when Arsh287 played a poor backpass that was intercepted. The final humiliation came when Ashers scored an own goal, deflecting in frattonender's speculative effort. 4-0 and the silverwear is heading south...

GW 12 Results

Arsenal 3 - 4 Southampton

A seven goal thriller, but the truth was, Southampton were closer to a fifth goal than Arsenal were to the equalizer. DrBunker is in tip-top form at present, everything he tries, works out and his two goals gave the south coast team a lead that they never gave up. Arsenal tried hard, but lost DixieDean to a straight red and from then on were playing catch-up. Joint top with their deadly rivals Portsmouth, Southampton are flying...Motm DrBunker

Brighton 3 - 0 Rangers

This was the perfect result for Brighton, they really couldn't risk getting left behind. After this comfortable win they are still bottom but it's brought Rangers back into the mix. The Scots didn't look up for this at all, and there were rumours that their captain Maureenho was spotted out in one of the town's less salubrious night-spots. He'll possibly lose the armband for this transgression...Motm BravoT

Crystal Palace 2 - 4 Liverpool

Liverpool are now climbing clear of the relegation scrap. This was their second win on the trot and a great lift to the club. Palace are one of the better teams but couldn't get to grips with the sweet play from Kitkat and Mintman in particular. Krispy added to the mix and the three goals before half time put this one to bed...Motm Mintman

Everton 2 - 0 West Ham

West Ham are getting found out now. They've not been playing well and Everton never had to get out of second gear here to grab the points. A fight between Hammerddh and newb0rn saw both teams reduced to 3 men. This played into the hands of the toffees, Hotpot and Scottoffee scoring soon after...Motm Hotpot

Leeds 6 - 0 Aston Villa

A night out at one of Leeds' curry houses proved to be not one of the manager's best moves. A night on the toilet for the players and they never got going (well not in the proper way). Leeds blew them away with their attacking verve, Flamingalah grabbing a hat-trick and Bandit and GM getting the others in this rout. Rumours are circulating that the manager may be considering his position after a -6 in the goal difference column...Motm FlaminGalah

Man Utd 3 - 3 Chelsea

Great game that showed the strength of this league. Neither of these teams looks like figuring in the title contest, United are actually only 4 points off the bottom, but they both played well, scoring great goals, even though Five Long Bones was at fault for two of United's three. Roga and mkc0303 combined well again for Chelsea, the former taking the Motm award.

Newcastle 3 - 0 Derby

Another good win for Newcastle gets them out of danger for now. Derby though, are just a point ahead of Brighton and are looking the worst team in the division. Their goal difference is also the worst and this terrible performance will have the directors worried. Only the on-loan -DC- looked up for this, and even the red card received by Looneytoon77 couldn't help them...Motm allwaysonthebeer

Nottingham Forest 3 - 1 Tottenham

How quickly it's all turned to cabbage at Spurs! Title contenders only weeks ago, they are now losing to three man Forest and never really looking in it. jpk100 left with a bruised ego shortly before half time, but by then Forest were three up. Only a late reply from bagpuss gave the visiting support anything to sing about...Motm keithy007

Portsmouth 2 - 1 Ipswich

Even after steve-lee was stretchered off with suspected broken toe, Ipswich were second best. Can things get any better at Portsmouth! They've won the League Cup, and now top the table. Even on one of their off-days they manage to defeat one of their closest challengers. Dronning Maud Land can probably win most games on his own anyway, and his two goals after flyingkillercob had opening the scoring for the visitors, won them the points again...Motm Dronning Maud Land.

Stoke 0 - 1 Hull

This ESPN game was tedious. Stoke were the expected shambles and Hull's class just grabbed them the points, Abumies and perivar combining to score the game's only goal...Motm perivar

GW 12 Results

Nottingham Forest 3 - 1 Tottenham

How quickly it's all turned to cabbage at Spurs! Title contenders only weeks ago, they are now losing to three man Forest and never really looking in it. jpk100 left with a bruised ego shortly before half time, but by then Forest were three up. Only a late reply from bagpuss gave the visiting support anything to sing about...Motm keithy007

Nothing can stop us now. Just 10 points off the lead and 6 games left. A big push now could see us challenging for honours.

(OK. It would have to be a bl**** big push)

There is a definite parallel with the real team - slow start but finding form - we would have beaten anyone this week.

Business end of the season now - lets keep it going Saints!

6-0 must be a record defeat? At least we're still trend setters 8-)
