I've had the sky world package for about 8/9 years which, with ESPN & the HD pack, currently costs me £71.25 per month.

As I'm looking to cut down my monthly outgoings, I contacted them this morning to cancel ESPN (which I hardly ever watch) and save myself a whole £9 per month (whoo hoo  ).

Whilst I was speaking to the customer services rep, I mentioned that although I still under contract until June this year (upgraded to the HD pack last summer) I was looking to reduce the amount that I paid them each month and asked if there was anything (in addition to removing ESPN) that I could do.

Surprisingly she said that she could offer me (as a long standing customer) a discount of £10.40 per month for the next six months and that I'd still be able to keep all of my existing channels (plus it didn't require an extension in the term of my current contract). Obviously I said 'yes please' & my monthly bill has now been reduced to £51.85 :D (she also suggested that I call back in September to check if I can get a similar deal just prior to this one running out).

Thought I'd flag this up to those of you that are on the same sort of package with Sky as it may be worth giving them a call & trying to get the same discount.

Cheers...

RB...
