Having a go at a weekly this week and have not been helped to find that Danny Willet is now WD, I have tried to transfer him out to replace him with someone playing over the pond but OFL still has him as an active player. This has also messed up my Yorkshire & Scotsman games along with many other people I suspect :x

I've e-mailed Mr. Green about it, but the best you can hope for is a 1st reserve to come in - once the earlier event starts you can't transfer an active player out at all.

I| have sent him a tweet, I could have done an extra transfer to give me a reserve but it usually would have been a wasted one.

As per the withdrawals thread, Danny Willett was due to tee off at 12:50, so first reserves will indeed come into effect if he fails to start.

Assuming that Willett doesn't start his round (which will be evident once Jimenez and Molinari complete their first hole), there may be a small window in which you are able to transfer him out for a player involved in the Frys.com Open.

Unfortunately, I'm loathed to do this beforehand - just on the off chance that it's an error...

Stranger things have happened with the European Tour live scoring - like Kenneth Ferrie initially completing his first hole today in four-under par!

Understand that in my hast to alter my team I had not checked his tee time.

I think that there is something wrong with my brain.

Yesterday I transferred out Robert Karlsson (who I have had form the very start) for Danny Willett.

I decided not to transfer out Camillo Villegas. CV probably will not even make enough events anyway and I only bought him in after he came runner up in the WGC matchplay.

Agreed, it currently shows Michael Campbell at 5 under after 15 holes. You can't trust it!

more on the willett withdrawal and an interesting day for his replacement :)

Quote:
Co Down-based Simon Thornton, meanwhile, had a truly unusual day.

Thornton was on holidays with his wife and child when he got a phone call from a Tour official wondering if he could tee up in the Portugal event as England's Danny Willett had withdrawn due to a rib injury.

Thornton, whose season looked to have ended when he missed the cut last week in Scotland, arrived in Portugal without his golf clubs.

"I got a phone call about an hour and a quarter ago saying someone had pulled out, so I had a coffee down at the marina and got a taxi up to the course," he said.

Borrowed

"I managed to hire a set of clubs off the local pro here, and I borrowed a pair of shoes, bought myself a pair of trousers, and grabbed some balls and a few gloves from a few of the other boys."

Thornton got to the range 25 minutes before his 12.50 tee time in the company of Ryder Cup-winning duo Miguel Angel Jimenez and Edoardo Molinari.

"I got to the tee and started bogey, bogey and thought 'that's not bad'," he said after finishing with a level-par round of 72.

When asked the reaction on the tee when greeted by his illustrious playing partners, Thornton remarked: "Miguel was great -- he said to me 'Simon Willett, who's he?'.

"But the whole day has just been bizarre as nothing like this has ever happened to me before."

Poor old Michael Campbell - held it together til the last 2 holes and had 2 double bogeys and will miss the cut at level par.

As for Francesco - got to be happy with 62. If yesterdday is anything to go by then the players this afternoon will really struggle with the 4 & 5 footers due to the greeens ripping up. Pity McGrane struggled when they werent!

I actually meant I played it too. I drove the entire course for the longest drive trophy.

Get Ready - Dyson only 2 holes away from the 17th and -6 for the day. Still, a round of -2 for the day wont be bad.

F Molinari at it again - what a week. looking like having 2 rounds of 10 under and probably wont finish top 10!!
No bias here but - come on Richard Green!!!!

Unlucky El Pap - sadly not to be

I have C Stroud in many teams - one with Green / Clark / Castagno / Schwartzel (Jiminez) - got a best round yesterday and has WD today :0( any ideas I was hoping a couple of surges from the 2 american players.

Another has Green / Derksen / McGrane / petrovic / Van Pelt / Clark

Something tells me it is going to be a bumper scoring week. Someone will have 150???

Anyone else catch the Frys.com finish?

On the Par 4 17th tee, Van Pelt and Mediate tied on -13 (Fowler also on -13 playing the 18th).

Mediate lays up into fairway, Van Pelt drives the par 4 and has 18 ft for eagle.

Prugh playing in the same group then hits a driver that almost goes in  , tap in eagle putting him on -13 too!

Mediate asks Prugh to mark his ball, then pulls out a wedge from 116yds and holes it

4th time this week that he's holed out from the fairway

A broken Van Pelt 3 putts for par.

So a 2 shot lead for Mediate walking down the last. Needless to say, both Prugh and Van Pelt birdie the tricky last hole, forcing Mediate to hole a 5 foot par putt for the win.

What a finish!

Catch it all here
