I love Pointless too! We have regular discussions about it at work and have it on a series link to watch when I get home from work.

Don't know what it is but it is really addictive and great viewing as well as learning something!

Enjoy the show but why does Alexander Armstrong have to ask the same inane question of the finalists every day.

"If you won the money what would you spend it on?" Yes he asks it every day at the same point in the show - just before they lose.

Sometimes it would hardly buy a decent night out !

They are when the low scoring answers tend to be african countries
I guess the british public don't know africa very well. lol

The current version is a lot slicker than the first series which was harder as it did not have the lists (1st series currently showing on freeview - Challenge). The lists make it easier to find pointless answers and boost the jackpot which is probably why they were introduced. The head-to-head round has also changed a lot and the final question has also got harder as the number of pointless answers to them seems to be much smaller and so the jackpot rolls over more often.

I wish they'd put the survey results of the open questions (including final question) on their web page after the shows so that you can see how you would have scored. Myself and Mrs E play along trying to out score each other but sometimes you have no idea what you scored or if you were even correct.

Good show though.

Yeah I love it as well. Champions league final scorers - I said Lars Ricken straight away and that was said by the contestant (and it was pointless of course). I also nicked Sol Campbell as a second one and was convinced Vladimir Smicer would be pointless, but apparently not!!

Superbowl winners - I nailed a couple of pointless answers there as well but my knowledge of African geography is pretty poor, I must admit!

They should just put all the answers up after the questions the same way as they do on that lottery show with Nick Knowles... Seems an obvious thing to do as it's got such a play-along quality...

I have 2 spare tickets to the screening on Friday 27th January. Only one show being filmed and need to be there by 6.15 very latest as although priority tickets they will go back into the pool after then.
I am going and using 4 of the tickets myself.

Don't like what they've done to the head-to-head. By that stage it should be down to 'Series 1' style questions not having options all the way through.

I've not had a pointless answer for a few days, must be losing my touch. If I went on the show I think i'd have to get a little lucky with the catagories. I either know loads of pointless answers and absolutely everything about a subject, or zip, zilch, zero.

For example, I could only name one Goldie Hawn film from tonights episode , But got the nationalities of all but 1 of the scientists!

There was a very overweight man on yesterday who was asked what topic he would like to come up.
He said "Crisps...........and the war between Wotsits and his paler yellow cousin, the Quaver. Wotsits are victimised as they are so orange"

Anyone see todays show? A couple managed to get knocked out in round one with a score of 300! Not something you see everyday.

I'm sure a couple got 400 last week but I could be wrong.

I think so......they were called the first ever members of the 400 club I believe.
I can't remember many details though.
