Theplan is to put up overall scores after every 6 gameweeks or so (and I know I have failed already, this is afte the 7th Gameweek), I will be putting up ranked total scores.

For your reference, here was last season's scores, the Gameweek-wise performances, and some stats which may help.

GW1: Pick quick here

Sensational second half appearance by Diego's son-in-law. Sensational 18th pick by Sir_JG (and we will go over the small issue of the spelling, shall we?). Pick 1 was as usual a massacre... but Nani's time will come.

Last year's winner, Richt has a good GW with the third pick, but the best of the week was the numbers / analysis man, stuboy, picking Darren Bent on one of his rare goal-laden performances. Can excuse MvL for taking the first pick, for a measly 2 points.... he wasn't picking last season. The Pick 1 jinx continues.

GW3: Pick Quick here

Jinx of the first pick? What a lot of blah. Fiso veteran blahblah shows us how it's done with a massive 22 point haul with the first pick -- this was the 8-2 gameweek, remember? Sir_JG, unbelievably, outshines even blah, with 23 points (aided by those two... ahem... assists by Ashley Young).

Please note, I got 0 points for this GW. I am so poor at this game that I host it. Doesn't it all make sense?

(PS: Kdub, your pick will not be consdered. Your pick came after I stopped picks. Sorry for that mate.)

Undeterred by his pick getting cancelled in the previous GW, Kdub picks first this GW, with his pet pick, Zog. Unfortunately the curse of the first pick comes back roaring from last week's un-cursing by blah. 2 points!
Richt is defending champion for a reason. he gets the highest points with a fairly late 8th pick. Tied with him at the top is Pick Quick regular Salgado, with the second pick. Rooney = Aguero = 17 points.

Hi, Sriram. Did you forget about the curse? 1 point! Kdub does not pick Zog this time, and is rewarded with 13 points! at the 16th pick, what's more. Remember our old firend from last season, pick 21? Sig_JG benefits from trusting it. Scott Sinclair, who'd have thought. He who dares and all that...

MvL RvP's his way to the top this week. Salgado comes close with vdV. Abumies, our last year's runner up, is always a superb late picker. He does very well with the 18th pick, picking Nani for 10 points. blahblah vs the first pick, is an interesting side game in itself. 4 points is not quite a bad week, but it isn't quite a curse-breaker either. But wait, we shall see worse....

Law of the averages said blah had to lose his mini-battle with the first pick this week, and he rightfully obliged. Young didn't play! Sir_JG, with the 17th pick, is the winner, as his topsy-turvy picks continue. Will he get the low single digits next week? I hope not! 21st pick does well again, good job jn77. Pick 23 does even better... albionjulie, you have more faith in Zamora than Jol, and it worked.

I get 2 points. I am bad at this, ain't I?

Taff Murray answers the question he's asked, pretty emphatically, with 11 from RVP (Though I suppose he'd have assumed the worst on seeing the list of starters for the Arsenal Stoke match). Kdub f*rts his way to credit with 15 points from VDV. And on other news, I get more than 2 point for the first time this season, with 5 from Dempsey.

Thanks - this year I have been slow starting but now it has been going good for a few weeks. Last year the late pick strategy was almost enough for a vitory.

You will say that the curse of the first pick is lifted. I will say instead that Van Persie is in the form of his life. It's really fastest fingers first here --- good job moonlightdribbler.
