Looking at your picks I can quite safely say luck was not a factor

If you play Pick Quick ,you have to be prepared to cancel holidays, going into hospital etc
Otherwise, you're just not a serious player of this game, and any success will not last.

Stage 1 Table has now been updated after GW7. Mintman is the new pace setter, with 3 GW's left in the first stage. :)

I notice that there has been a few minor discrepencies within the past few GW player lists. Mistakes do happen, especially when there are many new pickers this year and I'm sure those involved will try to minimise future errors, by carefully reading the rules and the player lists before picking. I understand it is all highly competitive and everyone wants to win, but please do try to get along nicely with each other in this simple & friendly little game. It may be a good idea if people can check back sometime after they have picked (but before the first kick-off), just to make sure everything is in order and perhaps at the same time seeing who all of your rivals have picked  Thanks :)

Anyway, all the best to everyone in the coming weeks... and continue to pick quick!

Hi Maccaroon,

Can you add 6 pts to my score for week 3. I picked Vermaelen but it got lost in the following posts. pick-quick-2009-10-gw3-t63928.html

Cheers !

Any chance of an update mate? I'm really unsure what's the best tactic.

yeah, I am really sorry about the long delay  I've been snowed under lately with various different things.

But I'm currently working through the backlog of picks & points, so hopefully I can post some updates later today, or if not then tomorrow at least.

Thanks for your patience...

Maybe with enough free time one of us could update the table?

That was in January !

How are you getting on with the updates, Maccaroon ?

Are you hoping that fans of this great little sidegame don't care how they got on,and will soon forget about it now the season's over ?

If so,forget it ! We haven't put all that blood, sweat, and tears in for nothing you know !

There's a protest planned in London's Hyde Park on Saturday if they don't appear by then.

" We want tables,we want the Pick quick tables......." Rioting could break out.

Hear Hear! I need official confirmation before i can crack open the champagne and rent that open top bus! Maccaroon only usually comes out to play on Thursdays to start the picking procedure doesn't he? Maybe we should pull together and set up a trap to snare him? One of those big rusty bear traps possibly...

There have been rumours, but that's probably all they are, with no substance to them, that he's been moved to an open prison now,so his days of day release on a Thursday may no longer apply.

Besides,if you've noticed him unlocking the door on a Thursday more often than on other days, you should keep that knowledge to yourself if you want to stay near the top of the table - if and when it's ever published

With apologies to Maccaroon, I believe this is the final table.

I didn't bother going through every weekly pick & seeing which was the Star player for each week, and if you want to check entries, you can go back to the individual Pick-Quick thread. If I've made a mistake, I don't really care.

If anyone wants to complain, they can complain, but having spent quite a long time creating this from nothing, I'm not going to edit it, just because some-one thinks they've missed out on 1 point.

Good man, shaggy - Maccaroon may buy you a beer for doing this.

Congratulations to moonlight dribbler on winning by more than 1 point and thus preventing any riotous misbehaviour.

Big thanks to Maccaroon for keeping us all alert for the past 9 months and testing our football knowledge to the limit.

 Still to early to celebrate then?

Big thanks to Shaggy for his huge effort in trawling back over all those weeks to tot up all our scores. Maybe Maccaroon is just around the corner with the official scores, who knows? But until then, thanks to him for setting up an such an addictive, competitive sidegame.
