Considering the raucous nature of the Phoenix Open, I'm amazed they didn't grant Daly an invite

The two-time major champion no longer holds a PGA Tour card having not won an event on the circuit for some seven years and insists he has no interest in attending the end of year qualifying school.

As a result he has to rely on getting exemption invites from tournament organisers to play with four being handed out at each event to selected golfers.

Of these Daly is allowed a maximum of 15 per year on the PGA Tour and to date has already received and used two - the first at the Sony Open in Hawaii and the second at last week's Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

However, he was overlooked by organisers of both the Bob Hope Classic in La Quinta earlier in the month and the Waste Management Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale this week.

As a result Daly, 44, will instead play at European Tour event in Qatar this week - he is still exempt from his Open Championship win in 1995 - and insists he will never again include the events in California or Arizona on his schedule.

"I'll tell you this: I'll never go back to the Hope, and I'll never go back to Phoenix, no matter what happens," he Daly told the International Golf Magazine. "I won't even send them letters anymore."

Daly said he was aggrieved because he felt the tournaments owed him for his past loyalty and support.

"I'm just saying that if you look at my past, everything the Thunderbirds (at the Phoenix Open) have ever wanted me to do for 17, 16 years, I'm sure I did it for them.

"I helped celebrities go to the Hope. I went to their parties and did everything for them. That's the kind of stuff that we all want our young players to do out there to help tournaments, and I felt like I did my part.

"It hurt me, therefore, that those two tournaments did not to give me spots (this year)," he said. "So (in future) I'll go to Europe on those weeks."

Of his decision not to go to Q-School to try and win his PGA Tour card back, he added: "I don't think right now I need to. I feel my majors will still hopefully get me in 15 events each year. If not, I'll think about Q-School. But I feel I don't really need to go that route just yet because of the European Tour."

You have got to watch Stenson throw his club in the water on 18th and nearly dig a whole in the green with his putter today

Fantastic to watch LOL

Reminds me of when I threw a club up a tree - didnt go back for it (Partially cos I couldnt reach it!)
