See he didn't even get on today with Malouda coming on ahead of him, now this is probably down to him not being risked after only rejoining training on Thursday, still though, with the emergence of Welbeck, I'm thinking of doing a little reshuffle.

Nani  Mata
Sturridge  Welbeck

Still keep attacking coverage on United and Chelsea.

What you guys think?

I think that is a knee jerk reactionn and that he only missed the game for the reason you state and will be back against Norwich next game.

Oh and Welbeck went off injured

Welbeck I get... point of United attack and in SAF' favour.
Mata's returns in his last 10 games; 2,17,6,2,3,2,9,2,3,3... not that exciting.

I'm definately keeping him. He only missed yesterday due to your reasons stated. He will be back next week.

Another poor Chelsea display and I'm not so sure Sturridge is a 'hold'. Thinking of replacing him with Keane to allow Aguero to partner RVP sure does seem tempting. I'm leaning towards 'get rid'.

+1 though now thinking Keane is proably a risky knee jerk that will back fire... Welbeck on the other hand...hmmm

And a +2 here.
Keane if only for QPR at home.

He's the type of player you have to give a chance.

I mean, I have owned, and captained, Aguero in the last two gameweeks with scores of 2 both times. So I should get rid right? Well, No. I wildcarded Sturridge back into my squad two weeks ago, and although he may not be as essential as Aguero, he stays put for now.

If nothing materialises soon though he will likely be replaced. It's tough because there is always a bandwagon, or form striker to replace him, but they too are patchy and will return the 2 point score meaning we will inevitably look to replace them too.

Not sure what to make of the next two gameweeks at Swansea and at home to United - will he struggle to score here too? Could do. I'm keeping, and playing, Sturridge for both games. I wildcarded him in with the knowledge of those games {though expected more from the Norwich game}, but with my defence and midfield somewhat cemented for a few weeks, and Aguero and Van Persie occupying the other front spots, Sturridge is certainly one of the more replaceable options for me at the moment.

Of course, he scores against United, and it all changes again...

Dropped him with my WC last week. I think I may have gotten the bes tout of him already, his reported disputes with AVB about wantign to play in the center rather than on the right are a flag for me. Having watched him play over his career I think he is very much the type that will take a 5% shot rather than the pass for an easy assist. This will only be compunded by the fact that he wants the same position as the person he would be passing to. If Torres was lights out every time he touched the ball I don't think Sturridge would pass to him so why would he knowing that Torres is missing everything at the moment. The entire team is "streaky" and I don;t think it si worth the gamble any longer just to hope that on a particular GW they are going to play well. Might as well flip a coin every single week!

All Chelsea players are on a shaky peg for me. Sturridge already gone last week for Morison, who should never have left my team in the first place.

I'm staying loyal for a few reasons.

1:He's quality.

2:He's the best vfm Chelsea attacking coverage imo.

3:There's a chance after Torres's inept display vs Norwich that he'll get a run at his much coveted "number 9 role".

Nope.

Shipped him out for Robbie Keane to enable me to bring in Sessegnon.

Will play 5 across the middle with Keane as 1st sub. Can't be bad, and certainly no worse than sturridge given the chelsea performances of late. I like sturridge as a player, but seemed the sensible thing to do at the moment.

^ agree, cant see him scoring... infact in a time wehre there is no reliable strikers for the most part a 3-5-2 makes more sense anyway..

I almost did it last GW, and not doing it cost me 15 points :)

And the thing is I can bench him vs City next GW and play 3-5-2 with Ben Arfa vs Villa, which is exciting me for some reason (no not in that way u perverts).

If nothing else,Sturridge is a handy placeholder for those awaiting Ba's return next month, both being at the same price.

Hopefully, by the time Ba returns, he'll be priced way cheaper than Sturridge!

Sturridge is a good player and worth keeping untill Ba returns. Considering Aguero  Sturridge depending how they do over the next few weeks

every time Ba drops, i smile. He might be 6.9 or 6.8 by the time i need to get him back in, which will make life that little bit easier.

There seems to be a bit of a lack of reliable strikers at the moment apart from moneybags van persie, which is strange as we were swimming in them earlier in the season.

Ba should be back for GW26 when Sturridge has: BOLTON wba STOKE

It'll be a brave man to transfer out Sturridge if he's back in some form and has those 3 games ahead.

id rather ba over sturridge all day, sturridge doesnt have that explosiveness, hes never scored a hat trick in a competitive game and braces are rare, his only one this season came courtesy of that ginger bustard bogdan.

Robin why so many transfers? You have done 34, costing yourself 64pts in the process! Are you confused? Has nobody ever told you that patience is a virtue?

What are you talking about? No, I am not confused, and yes, people have told me patience is a virtue - in real life.

I've took far more hits in previous seasons and done far better than this year. And how did you come up with 64 points? You know this is progressive over the season and I didn't just lose 50+ points?

And what did this have to do with the stuff I wrote about Sturridge that you quoted? Have you had one of your rare heavy drinking nights?

Odd post, the sort I would have expected 4 or 5 years ago on here.
