This could be interesting:

Quote:
In the next few hours, history could be made in Palestine. A small number of brave Palestinians will risk attack and arrest to commit a forbidden act -- they will board a public bus.

Lacking their own state, Palestinians are forbidden to use buses and roads reserved for non-Arabs -- part of a host of race-based rules that US President Jimmy Carter has called "apartheid". 50 years ago, African-Americans in the US challenged these rules by simply and non-violently refusing to follow them. In a few hours, Palestinians will take the same approach, and their actions will be live webcasted by Avaaz teams at the link below.

As diplomats stall in the fight for a Palestinian state, the Palestinian people are taking the fight into their own hands, one public service at a time. And they're doing it with the simple, elegant and unstoppable moral force of non-violence in the tradition of Gandhi and Martin Luther King. The Palestinian spring begins right now - watch it LIVE, register support on the right, and give these brave activists the global solidarity and attention they urgently need to win

Honestly... I wish that sad sad 'petition' was true.
It's about as real as the numerous lies fabricated by the sad idiots behind this and all past Palestinian campaigns.

We in Israel count ourselves lucky that over all these past years, our enemies were the Arabs and their like-minded supporters. If our enemies had half a brain cell between them, we'd be in a much tougher spot. But these Baldrick-level fabricated fables turn out to be total pigswill, so much sooner than later, that I wonder how come they simply don't learn any better?

But overall...

The number of signatures on that very real petition is ticking along very rapidly, about 24,000 now (including mine).

That's an interesting response, Ironfist. Do you consider Arabs not to have half a brain-cell between them?

It would be useful if you could inform those of us not directly involved in the Israel-Palestine conflict which parts of the statement are 'pigswill'. For example, is it true that there are roads and buses for use only by non-Arabs?

Your signature, as the value of your opinion is worthless, but by signing this fictitious petition and in the forums here. It's motivated by ignorance and a childish grudge which just like this petition will serve no purpose other than present you in a rather silly light. There are a few other petitions awaiting your attention, such as 'Free the Martians held in US custody' and 'Expose the Chinese drilling a tunnel through the Earth'.

Of course it's total bollox. No one in Israel would ever allow this to happen. Including me!
For heavens sake, this goes hand in hand with Jews taking a Christian child's blood to make the passover bread. (Ask trampie about this, he's the FISO resident KKK rep.)
There will be thrice as many Israelis as Palestinians protesting this, if this was true.
Read some about the Israeli massacre at Sabra & shatila, the Jenin massacre, the death of child Mohamad Dura, Israeli government policy of targeting civilians in operation 'Cast Lead' and numerous other such claims.
P-i-g-s-w-i-l-l.

If you posted this out of sincere concern for human rights where ever they are trampled worldwide... you have been mislead and I apologise.

So Arab's only have half a brain cell between them and (other people's) opinions are useless.

Keep up the PR campaign Ironfist

Re the roads / buses, I suspect that the truth lies somewhere between the two. There are restrictions on movement of Palestinians and as some roads pass out of the occupied territories there are bound to be some roads and buses that are barred to Palestinians (unless they have the required permits). If you wanted to spin it that way you could argue that this is apartheid, although the real issue is freedom of movement in general, not specific bus services. In my opinion, although of course:

I take a short break from my studies to thank Ironfist for performing a public service once again. He perfectly demonstrates the arrogance and racism that has left his country the most isolated in the world, with exactly one reluctant friend, America, plus all the friends the US can buy for a particular vote. There is, however, another better kind of Israeli who is reasonable, open-hearted and because of what the Jewish people have suffered unspeakably at the hands of similar ignorant and arrogant bigots, especially ashamed that people like Ironfist are currently running their country with an iron fist and a closed mind. For the sake of those Israelis and the Palestinians who are like them I still dream that the humane and rational on both sides can still triumph someday over those obsessed with vengeance and hatred. It happened in South Africa and it can happen in Palestine.
And now back to Charlie Chaplin and Moby Dick, which features a key character named Ahab, who could just as easily have been named Ironfist.
