Couldn't agree more, this DGW malarky is really starting to grip my s**t! Can't wait until things fall back to normal!

I actually woke the other morning at 4am as i was stressed thinking about my transfers for the weeks ahead!!

I was wondering this - is this totally unusual for FPL or is it just that double GWs don't usually come along this quickly?

I can't remember it being like this before; I'm just glad I managed to save my WC for the previous GW. :P

Thanks for the updates r_w.

I think it's the amount of doubles that's so different this year. There was a few games snowed off last year, but this year the havoc caused by almost a full week's fixtures being off, followed by more the next week, then the quick rearrangements... it's insane.

It's definitely a season for gamblers though. By the end of all these doubles some people will be able to look back at their transfer hits and think to themselves... 8-)

So, it looks like West Hame could re-arrange one of their unscheduled fixtures for the FAC5 GW26?

Either against Man United or Wolves (if they don't beat Palace in the replay next week).

Another Man U double week would be great !

I wondered whether MU-WH might be rearranged for Feb 13 (5th round day), but now I'm thinking that it's unlikely to be agreed because it's 3 days before United go to Milan in the Champs League.

:P UPDATED :P

With Wolves and Wigan crashing out of the FA Cup this now means less potential missing teams for GW29 - which is good news for me with regards to this thread - the equivalent of going into work and having your boss tell you they miscalculated your holidays and you have two extra days to take... :D

Also I've faded the games from GW29 that are in jeopardy depending on the teams that make it to the FA Cup 6th round. It's pretty easy to figure out - just something to bare in mind if you are planning that far ahead...

If I'm reading this correctly, three of the doublers are still in doubt for GW29. True?

of the teams still in, fulham now have a home game agst notts county, so would put them highly probable to win, and therefore mean no games for fulham in gameweek 29, and only one for stoke in game week 29.
aston villa is away to crystal palace, if they win, then no game week for the villa in gameweek 28 and 29, and only one game instead of two for sunderland in gameweek 29
chelsea at home to cardiff, if they win, then no game for chelsea in gameweek 29, and only one instead of two for portsmouth, also if chelsea lose, but portsmouth win away at southampton, same result, so my guess is that no gameweek for chelsea in gameweek 29 is almost a certainty, same for portsmouth, but not sure whether too many people will be affected
birmingham away to derby, if they win, then only one game for them in gameweek 29, and none for blackburn in gameweek 29
bolton at home to totenham or leeds, if they win, then only one game for them in gameweek 29, and zero for westham, although westham can compensate by fixing their lost game agst wolves on the same dates
if totenham win both their games agst leeds, and then bolton, then no game for them and mancity in gameweek 29, and likewise if man city win agst stoke, then same result, i would say very high probability of both spurs and man city not playing in gameweek 29, similar to the chelsea situation

hope all of this helps ....

btw robin - super thread, wonder if this will go down as one of the all time greats ...

For Tuesday Feb. 9th, how come Portsmouth, Sunderland, Fulham and Burnley are being listed to play on the same day as the DGW26 doublers?

EXTREME planning warning - exploding head time!

Not only do we have to plan ahead for the many double gw, now we need to try and ensure that those brave enough to go for 3 Man Utd in their DGW can follow it up with using bench players the next week...... Bench players who will now likely be involved in a DGW and have passable fixture for GW 28.

Stoke and Bolton have DGW in 26 and 29. Bench cover from them should be ok for GW28 when Man U are out.

I think I'll give this the attention it deserves when I'm not surviving on 4 hours sleep a night all week!

The 10 games played on 9th and 10th February are the scheduled regular fixtures involving all 20 teams. The double gameweek is active due to the 2 games played a week later on 16th and 17th involving Stoke, Man City, Wigan and Bolton...

My one and only source is Premier League Productions, the production unit of the Premier League (through IMG). They handle the production and distribution of all the games for overseas takers. As I work for a sports channel and we have the rights to the Premier League, I get all the updates right away and straight from the source. They email all their clients as soon as new fixtures are announced.

Exploding head? Tell me about it! There is no way I will be getting 3 Man United players for that. If I wait for Rooney that will be the last possible week to bring him in. Then that's it for me probably. There is too much going on and to think about to place all eggs in one Man United basket...

No can do. We're a very exclusive club. The Skull & Bones of Premier League fixtures. We know everything a whopping 12 minutes before you do...

My tentative plan is no transfers this week to monitor injuries and likelyhood of starting for the players teams brought in durring the transfer window and go for 3 Man U in their DGW. A good week there followed by an average one or better the week after could prove to be a real boost.
