Anyone else thinking that gameweek 30-31 could potentially be a double double for villa if the reading (FA cup) game doesnt go to a replay?

Villas games to be arranged are Hull and Sunderland:

March
20th
Villa - Wolves
Hull - Portsmouth
Sunderland - Birmingham

23/24th?
Villa - Sunderland ?
Hull - Villa ?

27th
Villa - Chelsea

28th
Sunderland - Liverpool

Just thinking where abouts their doubles could fit in.

You can't be covering up the fact that Villa play Sunderland for GW29. 6th March. It. Is. On.

I see both teams have it on their schedule, but don't seen any anoucements. This is the day before they play Reading in the FA Cup. A slam on Reading?

It. Is. Not. On.

This is the direct tickets link to the Aston Villa v Sunderland game on Sat 6th March 2010 at 3pm and this is the direct link to the ticket section on the official Aston Villa website, the Sunderland game nowhere to be seen...

This a just a big foul up, probably on Villa's part. I expect an announcement about the revised fixtures sometime tomorrow. Why they haven't done this yet I don't know. I mean, if you check out various websites for the forthcoming fixtures then this game is indeed missing, and even we know the score here - not just because of this thread. It sure makes you wonder though...

Also, I have emailed Aston Villa about this... :D

Heh. I was mostly just trying to bust the supposed cover-up of the game. I have no idea if it's on or not. :D

Although it would be dead handy. :D

Rrrriiight. So how do I say this without any threats of lawsuits?

The Man City v. Everton game, which was postponed in August, will now be played on March 24th.

Double gameweek for City and Everton then.

With the influx of Villa players most of us will be making, this new double will be very difficult.

I (like many) have a core built around Fabregas, Lampard, Rooney, Drogba, Tevez, Milner (will be in my team by then). Most other players will be 2 cheap Villa defenders, Ivanovic and 2-3 cheap enablers.
Fitting in players at the price of Everton and Man City players are will be very difficult. If we want to have players from either of these teams for the DGW then we will have to probably make temporary trasnfers of players we will buy back again at minimal, if any, price increase.

This has just made things even more difficult! And I haven't even mentioned anything about the additional points hits it would take yet.

My gw30 wildcard is taking shape

Looking at a gw31 team of 9 doublers from Everton, Chelsea, Man City and Birmingham plus Fabregas and Rooney

nice 8-)

I think this means then that Adebayor will be back for GW32 against Wigan, instead of against Burnley in GW33 (maybe already posted somewhere else?).

Looks like for most people it's pretty much all sorted till DGW 31. After that Villa players will boom, and other teams especially who are involved in the FA cup, it looks like nearly every GW till the end of the season will be a DGW, or who knows, maybe even a TGW? Interesting times.

I've looked at the new doublers and I won't be bringing in any Everton or ManC players for GW31. I already have 6 from the "original" cast of doublers, and my non-doublers have good enough matchups to keep - Fabregas (home to WH), Milner, Agbonlahor (home to Wolves), and even N'Zogbia (home to Burnley). Rooney (v. Liverpool) stays too.

As a SL leader I need to keep hits to a minimum, and optimally, zero. Gerrard  Lampard will be my only transfer that week to make 7 doublers.

Are Everton guaranteed that GW31 doubler or can it be re-arranged for any reason?

And now Aston Villa - Sunderland (postponed from the 6th March) has also been rescheduled for 24th March.

Link?

... The dgw30 for AVL, ie the Wigan Away game has not been postponed yet and if it doesn't, than that means TWO DGWs in a row which is unlikely. I think we'll need further confirmation... not so? :o :)

Wigan-Villa is at threat from a possible replay in the Reading-Villa Quarter-Final (whose provisional date is the 16th of March), but otherwise it WILL be two DGWs in a row for Villa. (No reason why two consecutive DGWs can't happen Ironfist :? )

:) Thanks. Not that I care, but is it really likely to happen? I would have thought AVL would 'complain' about 2-consecutive-DGWs in a row at this stage of the season... Has something like this happened before?

The official mod approach here would probably for them to say that it was not confirmed at the time of Cloggie posting it. However, Cloggie's work means that she is privilaged to the information a short while before it appears on most web sites and is kind enough to share it here with us. I can not recall any instance of her information being incorrect.

The fact that Villa now seem to have a DGW in GW31 means that it is possible to free up cash from Chelsea players we were perhaps hanging on to purely for the DGW.

Is anyone going to be brave enough for 3 Villa defenders for the run in?

1. Didn't know Cloggie had 'inside' information. :o
2. Didn't know Cloggie was a she. :)

3. If this happens and AVL has 2-DGWs in a row, this only makes Milner & Co more lucrative, however and perhaps this belongs in another thread... wouldn't that also increase the rotation risk, as far as it occurs in AVL?...

No worries, I get that a lot.
I never post information until I get the official email confirmation from Premier League Productions and their information is without a doubt always correct. This doesn't mean that it can't be altered after the fact due to complaints from clubs or cup ties getting in the way. But for now, the fixture stands.

Mental. I could really do with this happening!!!

So there is a chance that we could just have a 'normal' gameweek in GW30? Villa would only play Stoke away.
