Weeks like this are when the reverse is appropriate.

In the US there is a top field with any one capable.

However in Europe there is a much weaker field. ANy good players "Should" come to the fore.

However what everyone tends to do is put in their BEST players as opposed to the best players to score points.

For example - why dont you pick 10 players for the US event and see how they compare to my 10 for europe

My European selections being

JM Singh, Dredge, Schwartzel, P Hanson, Dougherty, A Hansen, F Molinari, S Hansen, McLardy, P Lawrie.

Total cost of the 10 being less than £9 mill. Agreed that you cant play them all but you score as many points this week for there performance as you will for the US stars.

CHALLENGE ON - ANY TAKERS!!!!

OK: Woods, Singh, Mickelson, Furyk, Donald, Els, Goosen, Scott, Sabbatini, Johnson.
They should all be in the top 20!

PS Which Lawrie for you?

Edit - or do mine have to be less than £9million too?

My Superstars beat your run-of-the-millers, but not by that much (by 102 to 72 using OFL scoring, I reckon). Entirely because of Vijay, Woods, Mickelson and Sabbatini, though - the rest were pants. Dougherty, McClardy and Molinari were your performers.

But sadly you were over budget and your team doesnt therefore count!

Sadder for me I trasnferred Woods out for Furyk just before the start.

Still go for a 50-50 split between events as best can. Means more chances.

Would have had jacquelin in but he was a nonstarter then player ;)

Easy this week - got to be 6 for the players!

I think you've said that with your tongue firmly in cheek. By putting all your eggs in one basket you can have only 1 weekly winner max. instead of 2 - or is this week a double points week for Sawgrass. Even then a high finish in Andalucia will outscore your 6th pick in all likelihood.

Easy to say that your 6th pick will score less but that can only be retrospective. You can define before the comp who is going to be your worst performer so to have your best performers yu need them all

Each decision is independent so probability is still in favour of 6 from one comp. ie
Player 1 at sawgrass v andalucia
Player 2 at sawgrass v andaucia

etc

If they all do rubbish but make the cut then 24 points bagged.

This may be one of the areas where there are different approaches - THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE - See if I can avoid transferring in Woods when he will probably not play next week ;)

What do you think of the above Adrian?

I understand your point, re not knowing who your 6th placed guy will be and the theory that you can accumulate a vast amount of points from Sawgrass.

It's a conundrum to be sure, I was going with a 4 & 2 split, although I have enough players to enter a full complement at Sawgrass. I'd be interested to know what seasoned Fantasy Golf veterans will be doing - this is my maiden voyage in the seas of OFL Fantasy Golf

Last year I did lead with about 5 weeks to go and was top 10 for an enternity so even if it is not sound - I got away with it.

Double beauty is when 3 of your guys tie for best round - 30 points just like that. Just made that up. Dont think I had a best round all season.

UNTIL VAUGHAN TAYLOR THIS WEEK

I've gone for a 5/1 split in both my teams (not that I can win anything of course!) and that's only because I've got the in-form Simon Dyson - any lesser player and I would opt for all six in the double-pointer.

It depends largely on the players, but the only circumstance I'd favour playing someone in the single pointer is if your choice is between an in-form player in the single pointer against an out-of-form golfer in the double-weighted event.
