how we doing then?
nothing special here, bought in Walker for Kompany as above, why not sooner? cos i never even noticed him, dumbo
dumped swp and murphy and with the spare cash and bought in bale and ...., bit leftfield, but you never know,
still roons, ags and rvp up front
was going to dump roon but i really cant see who for unless i go 3 5 2 and get vdv in with a ton of spare cash to burn, but dont like the look of some of spurs upcoming fixtures, a few nice but a lot of tough ones ahead too
could make or break em,
as razor says, its still way overweight up front but i'll wait for 3-1's & 4 -1's etc to jig it around, still 20 transfers so a little flexibity ahead

and you?
and yeah, it is still a bit quiet on here, ahh well..

Not great for me tbh.

Burnt a number of transfer over Xmas to rejig my team and now sit 50 odd points behind the leader who has v few transfer left so as before will try and ignore him.

Got some Spurs coverage in and gone from 343 to 442 to get some of the extra games elsewhere. Means will have a front line dilemma next week, do I go back to the 3 or choose 2?

Not totally happy and really need to keep away from theh transfer button but my hand may be forced.

p.s. Having the same thoughts about Rooney and then he goes and scores a cpl again to sway me back.

Goals team has 55 goals, sits only 12th in Bluenosey's league.

That man Dempsey doing the business for me on 12 goals!

Going in the right direction. Up to 2294th with 19 transfers left, looking for a top 1000 finish, that would be very nice, however.......

As an aside, in the top 4 of the Super 20s league which could be a bit of fun if I get through to the knock out stage, bound to be my downfall though when I start ploughing through transfers to stay in a tourny that I have no chance of winning... still.

902 points with 20 transfers left. 7867th overall. Was up to 3000ish early on but the lack of RVP soon put paid to that (Have him now though). dropped to 18000ish but have clawed my way back up and I'm thinking top 2000 and a run in the Super 20s is probably the best I can hope for (not in a SL).

892 points for me, just outside the top 10k. Fairly underwhelming so far but the last few weeks have been slightly better, prompting hopeful thoughts of a late season surge....

I did get on the RVP espress eventually - but not til I'd dropped a good 15000 places! I was just assuming he was going to get injured.

Heya singles.

Been off the forum for ages, and off the pace for even longer. Had a terrible start to the year which included forgetting to finalise my teamsheet before the season kicked off and, even worse, picking Stewart Downing. Tried to get back into things early on, but fell victim to over-analysis, let (sensible) FISOers talk me out of a few gutsy moves (e.g. a triple swap for RVP just before he broke out), got fed up and decided I was ruining the football for myself so binned the team entirely. So, your bog-standard November sour grapes!

After a few months away I've started fooling around with it again—with a much healthier mentality  . Only goal is to catch the pub league leader, who's had a corker so far. Burned a handful of transfers after Christmas on some nice little daisy chains and +2s, etc, took a few calculated risks, and have clawed myself within 40 points of the top. Now looking to consolidate for the run-in, and thought I'd open my heart to you who truly appreciate the slings and arrows of one-team fortune...

So, with 15 transfers left, and £1.8m in the bank, team is:

Krul

Walker
Warnock
Riise

VDV
Bale
Mata
Depsey

RVP
Aguero
Donovan

Went to Krul for fixtures + spare cash. Along with a Spurs overload for the earlier fixture glut (have since dumped Ade), Dempsey and Donovan were my gambles, both of whom paid off. I cycled Silva out when he was injured and Citeh's fixtures weren't great, thinking everyone surely had him so it was a chance to seek differentials. Probably need to bring him back for the run-in though. Wouldn't mind losing VDV, as his position and form haven't impressed watching Spuds recently. Otherwise, have intended to drop Warnock or Riise for a blue-chip defender, but their fixtures and lack of an obvious option made me wait.

So ... the world's your oyster here: lots of cash, flexible situation, nothing to lose
What do you reckon singles?

how-to-spend-1-9m-t93103.html
ruining your football
only a +++ for me, i would not be interested in stoke vila for any other reason

getting Dono  Ba (when back  ) seems the next move

Donovan will have to go at some point and then it's just the defence that needs looking at imho. Donovan to Sessegnon would free up a bit of cash to upgrade Warnock or Riise to Enrique?

Ta boys.

Agree that Donovan  ? is the obvious move. Was going to ship him asap, but he's been brilliant (KC in every match). I like Ba there too norvern, especially since he's not in too many XIs. Worried about fitness post-ACN but we'll see. So long as he doesn't come back with malaria...

I guess my two big questions are 1.) defenders, and 2.) Silva.

1.) @J, I've got plenty of £ to upgrade Warnock or Riise right now without downgrading in midfield. Question is whom? I'm not wild about Enrique, just because (since I'm chasing) feel the need to get someone with more point potential (rather than value & reliability). Richards being the obvious choice. He's been quiet, but still looked very involved on MotD last night. Or even a pricey Chelski player? Feel the need to make a splash there if I'm going to catch up.

2.) Trying to figure whether I need to bring Silva back asap. Feel like I do... And did VDV go off injured last night? Might make the choice an easy one... Though I also like Valencia in midfield as he's under-represented. Tough fixtures ahead for Utd though.

1, hmm, maybe, i was going to get him too but he's the 2nd most selected defender behind walker 41% - 36%, so odds are the people/person you are chasing have him
so.... you could try .... asking the TFF forum
2, nahhh, chels defence is pants
3, yeah, he's a hold for my team, too good to not steadly rack up the points
4, i have bought valencia in, after a heads up from eddie e, who watches a lot mor football than me

Surely it's got to be O'Shea for the extra games and the fact that he is underpicked? Was considering Enrique but lots have him and I'm chasing so that's what I'm doing.

my team still not firing, but 16 transfers left so time for a bit of a tinkering,
with man u about to go on their standard end of season spurt of scraping 1 - 0 victories, a semi block of evans and jones seems to be the way,
ade or defoe for this upcoming 3 0 is the question, ade was pants last time, so he is due some now, but just coming back from injury so maybe...
bring rvp straight back after, he is a machine this year..

what you reckon Len :?

So how's everyone doing. Not too great for me.

1227 pts
7,097th nationally
14 transfers left
Got knocked out of Super 20s league yesterday
In the Telegraph writers SL but there's about 1200 in there! I'm in about 100th place :(

Would be interesting to hear how other single entrants are faring and maybe have a regularly updated table of the leading players in the run-in?

Joey Navinsky - 1227 (14) 7097th

Anyone else?

Lo folks, well things have been going better for myself. Stretched out to 90 points behind my s league leader at one point which was rather worrying but I've clawed it back to 26 this weekend (was 4 on Sun morning!) whilst increasing my lead on 3rd place.

The very good news is my leader has 2 subs left so with the upcoming fixture pile up and my 10 I'm hoping to cruise past him shortly. /fingers crossed...

Still in the Super 20's as well!

Currently:

1229 - (10) - 6750th

I went to Aguero at the wkend at the expense of RVP and then Ade from elsewhere. So no RVP currently but hoping Rooney will make th difference, bit worrying but will prolly bring him back in like you plan on doing if needs be.

I'd defo go with Ade for the 3-0 which I also got burnt on last time as he'll play at least 2 and hopefully all 3 of them.

Not sure about the Man U def option, logic is sound but they keep leaking goals. All mine are still in the cup so am wary of touching them unless any get knocked out.

Good luck with it though... :)

i've been playing for goals with my single team- on 82 - just three behind the leader in Bluenosey's league (Just outside top 1k nationally in goals league - nowhere overall).
