The game will launch next week.

If you go to the site you will be able to see an updated player list - and their provisional prices. The pricing will be confirmed after the WGC-CA finishes.

Main takeaway currently is there is a much longer tail of enablers - with all the risk & reward that entails.

Masters fever will really start to build once the site goes fully live - I can't wait. :D

I'm pretty sure 'Masters fever' will kick in directly following the FISO England V FISO Scotland & Wales match at the Celtic Manor on March 28th 8-)

There is no bigger match on the Calendar this Golfing year (except maybe the King Trophy - FISO V TFG @ The Warwickshire on August 6th. Oh & perhaps the small matter of the Ryder Cup)

Player lists will be in hand, strategies discussed, worth coming down just for the fantasy golf networking

Well you won't be giving your best ideas anyway, so I'm not sure how forthcoming the others will be knowing you will be leaking misinformation.

I'm off to Dublin for a weekend to take Tony M out for a slap-up dinner instead

Just a quick word of warning to say that it's unlikely that the prices will be updated today and is more likely to be carried out tomorrow.

Needless to say, the likes of Els and Schwartzel are heading for price increases, but there will be other players whose price may drop a bit...

I hope nobody had the gun-jumping temerity to suggest there was potential value in the ROW section

Els, Schwartzel up as predicted, while Stricker & Westwood each lose 0.2m. Those seem to be the main changes. :D

Why, as in, why am I not entering OFL this year? Well, this is an annual thing with me, but this time I mean it! I am not cut out for the format of OFL where you need to research and plan and basically be quite clever - and have multiple teams *runs away*.

Now I know there is a Today's Golfer game following the same format of the winter league you just finished Top 20 in, I will play that instead.

  I was trying make it sound better than the very poor 22nd you finished up in the end

The only way I will play this season is if Mr Green introduces a 2-for-1 offer  ... or introduces a single entrant only league. And then I very much doubt it will sway me. TG dominance it is for me this season.

Come on Jonathan, you know you want to really

And this year you'll be subjected to face to face coercion, so it's just a matter of how many teams

The National Club Golfer game is very good too Jonathan. Free to enter & single entry - a team of 10 from 5 different groups (simply select 2 from each - they are even helpful enough to give you a complete list of who is playing in each group. Less entrants than Todays Golfer (approx. 1200) & usually prizes for the top 4.

As I've stated elsewhere, I'll be running 3 cash Leagues (over at TFG) for the Summer (all single entry £5 for Todays Golfer, £5 for NCG and £10 for OFL*)

*the £10 entry will include entry into a couple of side games - similar to last season

And of course you do know that by the time we get to Celtic Manor if you haven't already wavered we'll spend the weekend talking you into making an entry - you know you want it

Unfortunately a 2 for 1 offer (or a similar reduction) is not possible for this year - although rumours of such offers may resurface on April Fools Day! However, there are free entries for 2011 for any team finishing 11th to 20th in 2010!

Obviously it is not in our best interests for us to deter entrants entering more than one team.

However, it will be a real shame not to see you on the first tee...

I do fully appreciate that Mr Green, but I just wish there was some kind of prize structure for people who only like to enter one team, but it is a bit like those of us who can only afford to fly in standard class - we rely on those coughing up more dosh for the privilege of sitting in First Class to keep our standard class ticket prices lower. I know - a rubbish analogy but you get my drift!

And lo and behold, Mr. Green is proven right that Tiger plays at Augusta - and the first big decision of the season is back with a vengeance!

I noticed Fantasy League is advertising on American websites this year... IE Espn.com

Just having a look at last year's prizes...

http://golf.fantasyleague.com/Article.aspx?key=Prizes

1) We need better irons than Cleveland's if golf clubs are to be one of the prizes.

2) Only cash for 1st prize? Must take this down to the top 5 places. Even if the amount is small...

3) Those trips end up costing a bit of additional money and extra expenses incurred for those who live outside of England.

4) We all could use some Srixon Z Stars, Nike One Tour, or Pro V1 golf balls.

I've clearly got too much time on my hands, but there has been some further finesssing of player prices (Stricker & several top Europeans nudged downwards).

Fun & games already looking at possible Masters lineups :o

KDub,

This is all marketing related, so not really my bag. However, in relation to the above:

1) No golf club prizes this year (see below)

2) This is definitely marketing led in that it is felt that a £5,000 first prize has more financial clout than £3,000 first prize, £1,500 second prize and £500 third prize. Having said that, the "prize holiday" this year goes to the runner-up to lessen the difference. However, there is an additional £750 cash prize for the winner of the 'Fall Finish' this year, as well as the normal weekly and Matchplay prizes. There are also free entries for 2011 for 11th to 20th place overall.

3) Unfortunately, the prize sponsors can't always accommodate for the extra costs incurred by overseas entrants but I understand your point. There is the possibility of cash alternatives in some situations where it is financially or logistically unfeasible for winners to benefit from a particular prize.

4) Previous golf survey responses have suggested that only 50% of our Fantasy League Golf entrants are active members at Golf Clubs, so golf balls are only useful for a certain proportion of the playing audience. For this reason, we have tried to cater more for golfers and non-golfers alike this year (but many of the prizes are driven by the sponsors themselves) - indeed, the runner-up this year has an option of a golfing (Sawgrass) or non-golfing (Las Vegas) holiday. Both holidays are in America, so you may even get some spending money for arranging travel yourself!

Yes, I think those are the final pricing amends before "go-live" (hopefully later this afternoon)...

Was tempted to bring Tiger down a touch due to his rustiness coming into the Masters, but he would be even more of a no-brainer for The Open Championship if priced any lower.

The Majors League has gone :(

Replaced by 'The Fall Finish' - so need to keep some changes in reserve.
