Hi all,

Apologies for this "marketing" type of post, but we thought you'd be interested in a new Fantasy League game that has recently gone live, and will be promoted with links on the Fantasy League homepage from tomorrow.

Fantasy Fives is the new game from Fantasy League, where you must select a squad of eight players and activate five of them each week to score points in Premier League matches.

Unlike the main Fantasy League Classic game, there is no budget with which to select players, but you may not select more than one player from any real-life club, so choose your squad wisely with upcoming fixtures in mind.

Fantasy Five is the perfect, low maintenance game to serve as a great introduction to Fantasy League for any friends or family who aren't quite ready to commit to the full Fantasy League experience just yet. With this in mind, if you set up a league and recruit 5 colleagues into it, you'll be entered into a draw to win a signed Argentina shirt from the latest Premier League superstar - Sergio Aguero.

Check out the website at http://www.fantasyleague.com/fives/ and I hope you'll consider selecting your squad in time for the start of the season.

I'd welcome any comments you have regarding the game format and website. And if you have any questions or comments regarding any other Fantasy League game, please let me know and we will endeavour to answer your queries and make changes where required.

All the best,

George

Nifty little game this backed up by the very best interface of any fantasy game out there. However, I don't quite get why we need to choose 8 players considering we can't make changes between kick-offs. Why not just call it Fantasy Fives, let us pick five players and watch the points roll in 8-)

Unless of course I am missing something obvious?

You don't get unlimited changes every week so you have to use your squad of 8 to rotate between weeks. (There are windows each month for unlimited changes to your squad, but within each month you must use your squad of 8, plus a limit of 6 transfers within the month.)

I think it's worth clarifying as well (since Jonathan seemed to miss the monthly part altogether ) that's it divided into game months rather than calendar months. The dates are under the Transfers section here for those that haven't seen them.

Realised last night that we can enter two teams so my second one is now pending for the league.

 you know what? I have entered so many different games this season that I remember reading about the game months but couldn't remember which game it was for. I had convinced myself it was on the Orange game  Thanks for so politely putting me right!

Think I did something wrong when trying to enter my second team last time. Hopefully it should now be pending.

I can't get to grips with this for some reason. I keep forgetting the gameweek format and just can't get into it.

Good game in theory but the six transfers are a waste of time. Should be three max. Its no challenge to get what i think is the best possible team each week.

Dear Manager,

Congratulations for finishing in the top-10 in the Fantasy Fives Christmas competition!

The top 10 players at Christmas will win free entry into another game courtesy of Fantasy League – either Fantasy F1, or Fantasy Golf!

Please reply to this email and specify which one of the games you would like your coupon for.

Prior to the launch of next season’s sites (February for F1 and March for Golf) you will be sent your coupon, and instructions on how to claim your prize.

Congratulations once again,

:D

Congratulations Ashers, will you get two prizes as you had two teams in the top 10. I am delighted as this is my virgin win in fantasy football, and means I have now won a glorious* treble in fantasy games (to add to my century league win in telegraph fantasy cricket a couple of years ago and winning the first round prize in the fantasy orange rugby world cup game.)

Which game will you get a coupon for free entry to, as I am the nbbbee at the top of the leaderboard at the moment I think go for the F1 game as it is less maintanance than the golf, also no sweet fa about golf and will be less interference with fantasy cricket and any fantasy euro games I enter.

By the way good luck for the rest of the season, if I can't win this it would be good if a fellow fiso member does instead.

*this treble is more akin to the Liverpool treble of the league cup, fa cup and uefa cup rather than the United one of the FA Cup, Premier League and Champions Leauge.

Congratulations to you both.

I have to admit I've let this one go now. The site doesn't work properly from my work PC and I keep forgetting about the Saturday morning deadline.

A good start for you this weekend Ashers, you have extended your lead over me by 11 points already and I have dropped way off the pace by transferring out Robin Van Persie for Cisse and Szczesny, as I was fairly confident of an Arsenal clean sheet and they didn't even keep the clean sheet

Just hoping my gamble on Cisse pays off, on a happier note at least Van Persie's goals has helped me return to the top in Stanley Tools Fantasy League.

Good luck for the rest of the season
