Just wanted to know why their is so little chit chat for this game? There seems to be a reasonable enough Fiosers who play this game and their are 341 teams in the Fiso Super League. This game is essentially the old Metro game from last season and I for one love the format. Its one of the few Fantasy Football games in which I beleive recovering points on teams ahead of you is easier, say compared to something like TFF.

Anyway I can see Neil Carrington is doing brilliant with 4 teams in the top 10 in the Fiso Super League. Neil if you are out there would you like to share your expertise with the forum? How many transfers used?, who's in your teams? Are you in for the long haul or a manager going for the manager of the month prizes?

And Art Vandelay has been quiet considering I know he loves this game almost as much as me :D Come on Art lets get some activity in this forum going forward.

p.s. Does anyone know if last years Metro winner Andy Edwards is playing the game this year or has he decided to give us all a chance this year?

This is probably the best FF game. I like the scoring system. I am in for the long haul. I started very well with my teams, so I decided not to go for the monthly prizes. This might change after december if i am not in contention for the overall prize :D .

Ahh so Pseudo Geek = Neil Carrington. Yeah your doing extremely well mate. With 4 teams in contention at this stage is very very impressive. Did you play the Metro game last season which this game is based off?

Unfortunatlely, I am not Neil Carrington  but my teams are doing well. First time playing this game though.

You called? 8-)

This game's forum is always quiet. Like the Star forum, the game's decent, plenty of people play but nobody really posts anything :? It'll probably liven up next month when people are looking for mini-leagues. Although it doesn't look like I'll be involved in the fiso ones

Anyway, pretty poor start for me. Lampard's not helping, if I'd known he would be out for this long I'd have swapped him for Gerrard ages ago but stuck with him as he was always 'back next week'. Worrying similar start to last season for me.

(Neil Carrington is Frankie Frog)

Yes , I'm playing

My teams are a long way from the top - as was my best team at the same stage last year . The leaderboard only starts to become 'true' towards the end of December - I would be very surprised if any of the current top 20 are up there at the end of the season

Surprised a player of your ability is running injured players in a game where you have to use transfers in a specific time !

If memory serves Neil Carrington is on Fiso as FrankieFrog.

I wonder what a reasonable score is at this moment - AndyE says his teams are a long way off top, but to him that probably means around the 100th mark

Great to see your still here AndyE so when I win it this season it won't feel like a hollow victory  lol..... Last season I came super close to you but what really freaked me out if i remember correctly is when you said you had 7 transfers left come April. I agree with you that leaderboard only starts to show a true reflection come the end of December/early January. What position is your best team currently in? I have a team around the 300 mark with the use of a few transfers.

Andy Luckhurst was also a keen competitor and had a couple of teams riding high last season as well in the old Metro game.

Speaking of the Metro game I noticed a couple of your teams rearing their ugly heads in the top 100 of this seasons Metro game.

I have to agree with the Bear here, Art, I figured an experienced player as you may have looked to ditch Lampard after an absence of 1 or 2 games especially with the emergence of Malouda this season. NOT saying Lampard won't end up as one of the top point scoring midefielders this season as i firmly believe he will do.

Art I noticed one of your teams from the FISO league scored 9 points over the weekend. I am really puzzled of how a team could have scored so little even if it was a Chelsea/Liverpool/Man United block with the odd Chelsea/Man United forward and Midfield line.

Some teams are in for the long haul, some aren't. Some transfers have been used (I'm trying to copy Andye's tactics!), and I don't have Lampard in any of my teams any more. Hope this helps.

Main thing I've noticed, that may be a discussion topic for this game, is the usual apparent abuse of family member names in a free to play game prevalent near the top of the table. Pity the games never back up their own terms.

 Yeah, 9 points was pretty special wasn't it? Three Chelsea, one Man Utd, plus Bale at the back, three midfielders injured, one left on the bench, Essien, Malouda, Drogba(c).

On the Lampard thing, it's because he was always 'back next week'. If I'd taken him out then he'd come back for the next game it'd have been a waste of a transfer/s. If I'd known he would be out for four games or whatever from the start I'd have used a transfer but it's too late now, I've got to stick it out

Glad to see some discussion on this brilliant game. I've been playing for the last few years on the Metro site through the thick and thin of their pathetic site performance (my views do not necessarily reflect the view of FISO, their staff, families or pets) so now that this game has found a stable home without pushy side games, excessive advertising and slow performance I’m totally made up.

I've also been plagued with the Lampard/Fabregas wart and held on for far too long.

I came 13th in the Mail weekly, threw away 3 of my poor performing teams going for it, made up for that with winning the tff weekly

FS Record: Winner Div 3 TFF when they paid out £5k for divisional splits. Paid for a new car at the time. Several weekly and monthly prizes over the years.
403rd position is my best at the moment. In for the long haul with all my teams but that could change in the 2nd part of the season, if they're not close enough at halfway stage. If this is the case it will be Tora, Tora, Tora for MOTMonth attempts.
Problem I have is, to remember, the rotation of my substitute. Must have lost 20+ points or so in not doing this.

Did you have roughly the same team in both TFF and the Mail? If so it could really highlight how the different scoring systems mean different variables in selection?!

What would you have done differently?

Did you go for the Mail weekly just for the honour of winning it, as there is no weekly prize? The highest weekly score over the season wins £500, but surely this will go in a week of more than one set of fixtures.

quite different teams actually

tff - stoke defence and chelsea defence (both cleansheets), vdv, dempsey, adam, tevez, drogba, alex 7 goals plus a couple of assists

mail - mixed defence and city semi block only points for cole, vidic and alex plus dempsey, vdv and drogba captain, if I had gone the same as the tele I reckon I would have easily topped it

yes I did, opps, I did check the prizes and read it as £500 each week rather than best weekly overall, stupid of me really as its a free to enter comp, oh well you live and learn

my remaining 2 teams are nicely set up for the season but maybe not as good as frankies by the look of it

So what are people's transfer stories so far. I have 3 teams performing well with 11, 10 and 10 transfers left. I think this may well be below average at this stage of the season. Ideally I would have liked at least 12 left across all teams.

Frankie Frog please give me some hope and tell me you have burnt away transfers? :D

I've also got 10 left in my best 3 sides (and 4/5 captain changes). I used 2/3 in a second week reshuffle so I'm happyish with ten left at this stage. I'd expect that to be about average for contenders, maybe one or two more used than I'd really like but I bet half the teams on the leaderboard will have fewer than five left already.

I've been down to 9 men for the last three weeks (7 really with two Liverpool defenders  ) so for once I'm pleased to have the International break. As long as I've got a full squad once we get underway again I'm optimistic of hitting the leaderboard by December :)

Strangely I have used the fewest transfers in my top 2 teams with 14 and 13 left (5 capt in both) and my two lowest teams have 11 and 5 capts left.
