Roddy Woomble could be very cool.

The very same. Liquid Swords was easily the best solo album after Wu-Tang went their separate ways.
Should be an amazing gig.

Should certainly be interesting, hip-hop gigs can be fantastic or terrible in my experience. I'm more a fan of Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx and Method Man's Tikal myself, but all great albums.

(technically, the Clan hadn't gone their separate ways as they released at least another 3 albums, but Rza's production wass at its peak around this era IMO).

Tonight it is Still Corners. Should be a very chilled affair as the band play their dreamy brand of pop. Also particularly looking forward to my interview with them afterwards, although I must remind myself to keep my mind on the music - as lead singer Tessa Murray is quite the charming looker.

Been a few months since I went to a gig. Just about to buy tickets for A Place to Bury Strangers at Cargo in May. Might go see The Hanson Brothers (a NoMeansNo offshoot band, named after the triplets in the ice hockey film Snapshot, yes really!) in April and half thinking about going to the Hackney Empire to see Spiritualized in March, although it is a Monday night and I'm not sure I can be arsed to make the trek out east.

However I might be arsed to go and see this. If I can get any tickets, that is. Might costs a few bob in plane fare and hotel rooms but would be worth it.

Just ordered tickets to see NOFX at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in June. One of my favourite bands when I was a teenager, couldn't resist a trip to London for this as they very rarely play in the UK.

Also just had my tickets through for Alkaline Trio in May...and my 5th Download Festival on the trot is looking more and more likely :D

Will be interested to hear a review of that one, moonlightdribbler - Slave Ambient was #2 in my top 5 albums of 2011.

....I enjoyed this immensely. They played a fair chunk of their second album 'Slavie Ambient' as expected, and the ones you'd want, most notably my two favourites, 'Brothers' and 'Come To The City'. The latter sounding particularly epic! At one point in the gig they asked if there were any guitarists in the audience who wanted to come up and play, and two lads got up and played a song with them (I forget which track it was). I expect you'll find out tonight Herc if glasgow has any talented guitar heroes in the crowd. Maybe you??

Going to watch Patrick Watson at the Melkweg on 28th April.

Has anyone seen him live? Heard good reviews from some colleagues the last time he was in Amsterdam but as the Dutch still love listening to Roxette I can't completely trust them!

I missed out on Kraftwerk MOMA tickets but it looks like I wasn't the only one.

And this chap got a bit annoyed too...

Going to see 'Wake The President' at the CCA in Glasgow tonight.

Great little indie rock band from Glasgow. Also the CCA is quickly becoming my favourite bar in Glasgow, even though the kitchen only serves vegetarian food!

The humus and flatbread is pretty good though

I was getting itchy fingers waiting for the UK dates and very nearly booked Cologne the other day.

Went to Dublin for the last tour (as well as LCC).
