So Ryan Taylor is getting the left back slot with Enrique gone I'm guessing. Is this likely to continue for long? Toying with bringing in him or Simpson in place of Wes Brown at Sunderland...

To answer my own question, it seems likely that Ryan Taylor still might be a stop gap for Newcastle....

The Magpies will spend the next week or so attempting to finally land the left-back and the striker they want before next Wednesday's deadline,

so we're looking at...

Krul

Simpson S Taylor Collocini R Taylor

Barton/Marveux? Tiote Cabaye Gutierrez

Ba/Obertan Shola Ameobi

Williamson and R Taylor both limped off against scunthorpe yesterday - let's see if any long-term damage to either...

likes of Gosling might get a bit of game time too. ben Arfa will come into the reckoning when (if?) fit

How did Ben Arfa do last night?
Any chance of him starting anytime soon?

Is Sky Sports suggesting Ryan Taylor will line up as a midfielder this week?

Possible starting XIs:

Newcastle: Krul, Simpson, Perch, Coloccini, Santon, Obertan, Cabaye, R Taylor, Gutierrez, Ba, Ameobi.

Swansea: Vorm, Richards, Williams, Caulker, Taylor, Britton, Gower, Allen, Sinclair, Dyer, Graham.

I count five defenders and see his name in a place usually reserved for midfielders. Has there been any press on this, am I reading too much into it or has Sky just got it wrong?

Edit: Goal.com showing the same thing. Interesting.
