So the final 4 seeds are:

1. A Stranger In The Alps
2. Wombling Free
3. Crispysix
4. Kickers XI

The semi finals will be:

A Stranger In The Alps vs Kickers XI
Wombling Free vs Crispysix

So the good news is each one of these teams can transfer any player out and replace with a player from any team that is no longer in the competition. You can however choose another player that is not at any club. This is NOT a compulsory transfer, although I'd be surprised if any team decides to not take up the option. Obviously you CAN'T bring in a player from one of the 4 semi-finalists.

This time round however, the 1st seed gets to make the 1st transfer, then the 2nd seed, 3rd seed etc.

So Dude's can you please publicly state, whether you are going to make a transfer. If yes, which player is out and who do you want to bring in (as always must replace like for like in position).

To help everyone out, these are the top 3 players from each position whilst this game has been going on:

Yes I would like to make a transfer, but publicly declaring? I'll send you a PM with my choices stuboy and feel free to copy/paste it onto here if you're sure that's what you wanted, just seems a bit strange to change transfer declarations to public at this stage.

Edit - I realise that this sounds very insurbodinate, and it's your game. I don't mean to be rude, and I probably shouldn't say anything and just post my transfer picks. Apologies if it comes across that way (I havent had my first cup of coffee yet this morning). Anyway transfer picks PMed to you stuboy, post them publicly if you wish 8-)

Just to clarify why the public declaration:

1. For the record, only Dudes can publicly give his transfer request. Once he has done his, then I'll do mine, then you Crispy and finally Surprised.
2. Why? Well, similar to the NBA or NFL draft, I want teams to be influenced by what the teams before them do. At this stage of the game, the number 1 pick, in this case Dude's Abide, is actually the number 1 team - we're no longer reversing the way we pick. So ultimately, we're all trying to play catch up with the team above us. It probably isn't too difficult to see weaknesses in each team but I thought it would allow the games to be a bit closer if we chose our picks, knowing what the teams above us did.
3. As I'm still in the game, I didn't want an advantage that no-one else had (or seen to be having an advantage) so just wanted everyone to know publicly together.

I'll send Dudes a PM but I would like him to transfer player out and in and then I'll do mine and so on.

Hope that clears up the confusion

The first semi final is not really setting the world alight. However, should Tevez play and get and assist or a goal, Surprised is through. Otherwise, The Dude Abides makes the final.

In the 2nd semi final, Crispy is through by the skin of his teeth. Had Gallas played for Spurs today, had Suarez not got booked, had, had, had - I'll let it go.

Congrats Crispy - good luck in next week's final. Remember, the team you have now is what has to be played for next week.

Good match Stuboy, well played (and sorry again for my earlier bad mood - must remember not to post before I get over my early morning grumps)

Next week should be interesting, I have rotation risks in Vidic and Hernandez, the dude will have doubts about Rooney, Drogba and Clichy, and Surprised looks good for a full 6 players if Tevez can drag him back into things.

Tevez is a big gamble but I needed to gamble.

Congratulations Surprised, your gamble come off, unlike mine (Drogba 1 point) good luck to you and Crispybits as well, hope the better team wins.
Thanks Stuboy, enjoyed the game , shame my team blew up when it mattered, also liked the early season write -ups you done, very amusing. All the best , Jon.

Looks likely that it will be 5 vs 3 in this 6 a side final. Good luck Surprised (and yes, I'm getting the excuses in early  )

So, are we going for this next season then? It's been a cracking competition, precisely because in some sense we're prisoners to the draft - TFF for sadists you might say

yes, I've liked this - despite having the ability to pick permanently crocked/rotated/crap players.

Enjoyed it Stu, but you need more midfielders than strikers next time.

I'll update the final tonight when I'm back.

As much as I've enjoyed organising this, I'd probably only do it again if someone can teach an idiot like me, how to automate the scores using code (I've never programmed anything except the timer on my oven!) Next season I'm pretty much away the whole of September getting married, so I'll need a right-hand man/woman to assist me when I'm off.

I'm also wondering whether I should keep this to 16 teams. This number seems right otherwise having more teams with unique players is going to make some seem very diluted.

I agree with changing the format so the teams are constructed as a 1-2-2-1
I would want to keep the compulsory transfer windows
We could do this over a whole season, with each team playing every other team 4 times in a season (a bit like the Scottish Premier League!). At the half way mark, we could then repick for every player, with the bottom teams getting preferential picks (not guaranteeing no 1 picks for all positions)
Might add a captaincy option where you can choose a captain but they stay the captain until the next transfer window.

Interested in hearing other ideas of change/improvement.....

There must be someone on here that can assist with the automation/data collection, Romyn?

Totally agree with everything else you've said, I can only think that having an FA Cup would be a nice touch as well perhaps.

Automation should be straight forward enough.
A web query can download the player points and then a vlookup (or similar) formula in excel to work out the team scores.

And yet when I read your message, this is what I saw

The tinterweb can get you the player points but you need to know the art of molecular & rocket science as well as have a degree in Artifical Intelligence to work out the team scores.

It is quite easy when you get used to it.
I can knock together a sample spreadsheet at some point and send it you.

Late in coming - but the best sides prefer to do their victory parade a week after winning the trophy. Big congrats to Surprised for winning the inaugural 6 a side game. He certainly wasn't one of the bookies favourites going into the tournament. But it was his dealings in the transfer window that won him the tournament, most noticeably, picking up free transfer, Dirk Kuyt, who amassed more points in 7 weeks than Elmander managed in 14!

It's been fun......
