Ok i am 2nd in my mates private league of 14 teams sitting on 570 points(8153rd position overall) but trail the leader by 58 points(he's in 713th overall) Now last season he went off like a house on fire and similar story this time but i did manage to catch everyone from being bottom of the table early doors last season.

My current lineup is: With 20 transfers left and 0.8 mil to spare

Krul
Lescott
Richards
K Walker
Lampard
Nani
Silva
Bale
Y Toure
Ba
Hoilett

I've had Lescott, Lampard, Nani, Silva, Y Toure and Hoilett from the start.

Not sure I can do too much to change this team but thinking Lampard and Nani are starting to cost me of late. But if anyone has any ideas to improve it would be most welcome. Ps im sure the league leafer has Adebayor and a Villa defender so these aren't options.

He has already overtinkered so 3 is OTT IMO

The opponent seems like a hare so the best chance of winning is to play steady and use a transfer advantage to grab the form players in spring.

That really is a crap forward line though......

Thanks for the replies. Do feel i've overtinkered slightly.

Murf: Imagine how bad my firepower was before I got Ba in to help the very underrated Hoilett whose a doubt with man flu today!
For the small number of goals this team has amassed(26) I'm in a relatively high position- Lost a few thousand places last couple of weeks though.

Certainly won't bring in Helguson or VDV. Only RVP if Lampard don't get named in starting XI today.

Team now is

Friedel
Walker
Lescott
Richards
G Johnson

Bale
Y Toure
Silva
Nani

Sturridge
Ba

Down to 16 transfers, by far my lowest of any of my teams, shows how tempting it is to tinker when up against your mates!Going to be forced into getting rid of Ba and Yaya unfortunately :-(

So for who? Ive got a 1.2 million budget currently. So it will be 10.8 mil spare on two players, I can only see Aguero and either Dempsey or Mata leaping out at me.

The gap between me and the big gun at the top is 61 points so not much change in the last couple of months but he is 333rd place in the country- I am 4068th which is my highest position so far this season so no need to stress too much! Just hope hes got under 10 transfers left, I know now he has got Krul(lucky git last night) Phil Jones, Adebayor, and a 2 point scoring midfielder from last night, Nani or Valencia perhaps.

Guessing he has Adebayor, Aguero and Van Persie up front as his side whacked in a big 59 goals so far compared to my 42.Interestingly or not-if i havent bored you his starting XI is 120 points behind mine and my starting XI isnt exactly setting the world alight!

Opinions please? I do put a fair bit of weight behind the FA Cup but think best to leave any other activity until the outcome known, especially in the City v United match

As Valencia got booked last night and scored 1 point your opponent may have Rooney :?:

A possible gamble could be for Defoe at 5.4 as he may get a sniff in the FA cup plus extra game against Everton. Its just whether he gets regular playing time thereafter. If not then Adebayor. Aguero is likely to start the cup game but risky if they get knocked out (unlikely on form!), but then again if your opponent already has him then you might just want to keep level until they potentially run out of transfers.

For midfield Mata would be a sensible choice but I like the look of Dempsey and Sessegnon (3.5M) - both solid point scorers now and reasonable fixtures coming up.

IMO i would go for Defoe and Dempsey. Then if Defoe has not performed great during the next 3 matches you could always swap for Aguero ready for Man citys game on the monday night against Wigan. Although that would require one extra transfer :?

I went for Dempsey and Defoe, Thanks for the Defoe idea, I'd never really considered him at all. After those Saturday games i went from 4068th upto around 2000th, Strangely tho after Sundays matches id dropped down to about 3500th. Must be very tight in and around that area!
Yep he's definatly got Rooney, be quicker it seems to list the players he aint got! Can someone check the rules to see that he's not playing with 16 men, ta
