ROUND 3 - FIRST LEG - RESULTS

Not the highest scoring week so there are some close games with five having a maximum of 2 points in it. But elsewhere top scorer Knulpuk (flush with confidence after beating me last week?), steve foster (playing a no show  ) and johnnyhp must be tempted to rest some first choice picks for the second leg next weekend....

jpk100 3 v 8 Knulpuk
the dude abides 0 v 7 steve foster
kingmackay 5 v 6 toffeelover
Big Bird 5 v 3 bluenosey
mowatson 3 v 5 Spencer4
chrispyb 3 v 5 Deppy
johnnyhp 7 v 1 Rookster
golden bear 2 v 4 Lone Ranger

I don't mind if you don't turn up next week. You'll still win anyway. I'm now paying the price for letting my reserves pick for me last week.

Second leg is 7-4 to Steve. Penalty shootout if we both get tomorrow night's prediction wrong?

If away goals is equal (need to be 7-4 as you say) then it goes on who got most points from this week's league leaders' game (now Arsenal) then second place etc.

Big shout of 'unlucky' to kingmackay, scoring at least 3 more than 3 qualifiers.

Coming up, the semi final draw with Kylie (home teams) and the ghost of Molly Dobbs (away teams)

Following the untimely death of FISO goals this is going to stick 2 fingers up to Dataco and run to the end on PM'd predictions.

I've PM'd the competitors and got selections from Deppy and mowatson but still waiting on golden bear and knulpuk

FINAL - Result

golden bear 7 v 0 Deppy

And so it ends.... not with a bang but with a whimper.

Only golden bear picked for leg 1 and that was enough to secure victory with neither team showing up for the second leg.

Thanks for everyone's support over the many years. I had fun running the Premiership Predictions Cups but my enthusiasm had certainly dipped of late, never really been the same since it was all taken into FISO Goals so quiet happy for it to finally keel over and this half baked final match seems somehow appropriate.

I'll say goodbye with two fingers raised in the air to Dataco but won't forget special thanks to thelip for his marvellous dedication to the scoring duties in the aptly named good old days, also the three Daves in recent years who did the FISO Goals duties and not forgetting all you players who contributed good banter and the rare few who sometimes let me beat them.
