Welcome to Round 4 of murf enterprises's 2011 Formula 1 predictions game.

We return to Europe and the start of the European Cup - an ideal time for any newcomers to join the competition (see below)

Each race will be a separate competition where the winner gets 25 points towards the season competition, second 18, third 12, down to 1 for 10th just like the real thing.
Everybody is welcome to have a go. All you have to do is predict the top 10 finishers and you score points depending on how accurate you are. Best man wins. Full points details etc in the Series thread.

As well as the main championship, we will again be tallying total scores over all 19 races for the Form Crown and having 2 sidecomps.

Simple picking rules
- pick your top 10
- stick to the template
- use driver surnames only
- No witty comments / smileys on the predictions lines as these are copied directly into the spreadsheet
- use the correct spelling

Please double check your spelling and remove comments or the automated spreadsheet WILL steal your points!
IF I spot your mistake I will give you a nod to change it. Yellow card system - just one warning/nod each. The spreadsheet has been refined since last year so badly spelt picks will get 0 points.

DEADLINE
Entries must be in by start time of first qualifying session - see below. Edits and tweaks allowed until that final deadline.

TIMETABLE
Friday 6 May: Practice one - 0800-0930; Practice two - 1200-1330
Saturday 7 May: Practice three - 0900-1000; DEADLINE = Qualifying - 1200-1300
Sunday 8 May: Race - 1300

EUROPEAN CUP - LAUNCHES HERE

This runs over the next 10 GPs, 9 in Europe with a guest GP in Canada in honour of the great Gilles Villeneuve.

That gives us scope for 5 rounds of 2 legged direct matchplay, starting here with the 'last 32' with the winner being declared at Monza on September 11th, over 4 months away!

Draw to be made after the deadline for entries. Anybody not entering the Spanish GP will not be eligible. I doubt we'll get to 32 so byes will be awarded in line with Championship Standings (and Form Guide standings where necessary / as a tie-break).

e.g. If we get 25 entrants then the top 7 in the championship get byes and the other 18 play off in 9 matches so we have 16 in the next round of the cup

In the highly unlikely event that we get over 32 entrants then newbies will be on a first-come, first-served basis with some missing out to keep to 32.

With 18 entries to date (and 80 minutes to go) we will need 2 matches and 14 byes in Round 1. The dashed line below will creep up with every entry between now and 12. Ashers and darbyand can still enter and get byes but the rest of the top 17 seeds are in.

I'm afraid my old form has returned. and my lead at the top of the table will now start to diminish very rapidly. :oops:
