murf's F1 Predictions 2011 - Rd 3, Chinese GP, 15-17 April

Welcome to Round 3 of murf enterprises's 2011 Formula 1 predictions game.

All a bit quick fire after the slow death of Winter and the delayed start - we are straight into Round 3 and wondering who will take away teh points in China.

Each race will be a separate competition where the winner gets 25 points towards the season competition, second 18, third 12, down to 1 for 10th just like the real thing.
Everybody is welcome to have a go. All you have to do is predict the top 10 finishers and you score points depending on how accurate you are. Best man wins. Full points details etc in the Series thread.

As well as the main championship, we will again be tallying total scores over all 19 races for the Form Crown and having 2 sidecomps.

Simple picking rules
- pick your top 10
- stick to the template
- use driver surnames only
- No witty comments / smileys on the predictions lines as these are copied directly into the spreadsheet
- use the correct spelling

BBC Driver List

Please double check your spelling and remove comments or the automated spreadsheet WILL steal your points!
IF I spot your mistake I will give you a nod to change it. Yellow card system - just one warning/nod each. The spreadsheet has been refined since last year so badly spelled picks will get 0 points.

DEADLINE
Entries must be in by start time of first qualifying session - see below. Edits and tweaks allowed until that final deadline.

TIMETABLE
Friday 15 April: Practice one 0300-0430; Practice two - 0700-0830
Saturday 16 April: Practice three 0400-0500; DEADLINE = Qualifying - 0700-0800
Sunday 17 April: Race - 0800

SIDECOMPS - Note that due to the rearranged calendar there won't be an Early Doors Cup but the eagerly awaited European Cup (2 legged knockout) will start early in Round 4. Some byes may be available based on Championship position (then form guide) so this is your last chance to get yourself in a good position before then.......

Sebastian Vettel's dominant run continued as Red Bull's world champion set the pace in practice for the Chinese Grand Prix.

McLaren were again his closest rivals as Lewis Hamilton was 0.166 seconds behind with team-mate Jenson Button third ahead of both Mercedes drivers.

It's going to be quite low-scoring this week by the looks of qualifying. Webber, Schumacher, Heidfeld all way down. Petrov in 4th !

Who cares about 10th, I got all off the top 9 right 8-)

. OK, in an Eric Mrecambe style I played all the right notes, just in the wrong order.

Err, no it isn't!

Our championship leader and round two winner Shaggy continues his great form by picking all of the top 10 drivers correctly :shock:

but, alas, fails to put any in the right order. tommymooney 'only' picked 9 correctly but had a whopping 5 in the correct order for the win. I also had 9 but only 3 in the right places means I get the lowest step on the podium with the smallest version of the trophy handed to me by the lowest ranking dignatory - but at least I still get a bottle of champagne to spray around!

EUROPEAN CUP
Starts next round (Turkey, 3 weekends' time) with the 'last 32'. Our entries so far have been around 20 a week so I would expect around 12 byes (32 minus 20) which will be allocated in championship order. You need to enter Round 4 to get a place in the draw (or a bye).
