Welcome to Round 1 of murf enterprises's 2011 Formula 1 predictions game.

Here we are back again and what has changed? Not a lot. It ain’t broke and it ain’t fixed.

Who will be FISO’s 2011 F1 Prediction King or Queen??? The race to steal Darbyand’s crown starts here.

Each race will be a separate competition where the winner gets 25 points towards the season competition, second 18, third 12, down to 1 for 10th just like the real thing.
Everybody is welcome to have a go. All you have to do is predict the top 10 finishers and you score points depending on how accurate you are. Best man wins. Full points details etc in the Series thread.

As well as the main championship, we will again be tallying total scores over all 19 races for the Form Crown and having 3 sidecomps.

Simple picking rules
- pick your top 10
- stick to the template
- use driver surnames only
- No witty comments / smileys on the predictions lines as these are copied directly into the spreadsheet
- use the correct spelling

IF I spot your mistake I will give you a nod to change it. Yellow card system - just one warning/nod each. The spreadsheet has been refined since last year so badly spelled picks will get 0 points.

Entries must be in by start time of first qualifying session - see below. Edits and tweaks allowed until that final deadline.

BBC: "McLaren put their winter struggles behind them by setting the fastest time in practice for the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

Jenson Button set the pace in an updated McLaren with a lap of one minute 25.852 seconds to edge his team-mate Lewis Hamilton by 0.132secs.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso was 0.147secs behind in third ahead of Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.

Qualifying for the race starts and the deadline for murf's predictions competition is at 0600 GMT on Saturday. "

Busy weekend and didn't actually get to see the grand prix (results) til late last night

Was slightly surprised on the first run of the new spreadsheet to see that 7 of the 21 are new entries from last year. Good to see them but also means we've lost a good few old hands

Anyway the winning score of 131 was by a newbie. Congratulations Ashers - all a tad provisonal til I finalise my checks though.

The oldies were represented on the podium by bluenosey with 126 and Surprised on 118
