Did anyone else read the T&C's and think the first monthly competition was for August?

Monthly Prizes (August 2011 - April 2012): 1st £5,000

I believe YTM monthlies used to be calendar months.

The next bit is from the "prizes" link at the top of the login page.

The 'Manager of the month' prizes are based on the following periods:

- September 2011: 13th August 2011 - 30th September 2011
- October 2011: 1st October 2011 - 4th November 2011
- November 2011: 5th November 2011 - 2nd December 2011
- December 2011: 3rd December 2011 - 30th December 2011
- January 2012: 31st December 2011 - 3rd February 2012
- February 2012: 4th February 2012 - 2nd March 2012
- March 2012: 3rd March 2012 - 30th March 2012
- April 2012: 31st March 2012 - 27th April 2012

So the first Month is August and September combined.
Don't know for sure, but I would imagine with some of the scores at the top of the table, I wasn't the only one who thought the first monthly ended this weekend. (If that's not the case, I must have played the game like a baboon)!

I checked the T&C's beacause they're usually more in depth than the "how to play bits" I still can't see where it mentions August and September combined in the actual T&C's.
My own fault, I know, just posted because I thought others may have read it wrong as well.

Unfortunately ive fallen down on rules changes aswell - captain in sky for instance!
Golden rule i suppose is to re read everything even if you have played the games for years!

The 10 Commandments:

1. Thou shalt always read the rules thoroughly.

I doubt those on the leaderboard don't know it covers August/September. Is Neill Button on FISO?

Neill Button doesn't ring a bell at all. Like I said earlier I always read the T&C's as generally they're more thorough and in depth. It doesn't mention Aug and Sep combined in the T&C's. Haven't got an issue with it, just trying to bring other's attention to it, just incase they thought the same as me.

Take my hat off to yourself Leo, not because you're beating me with 10 teams, but for the simple fact you've had time to do them on that site.

Haven't got an issue with how many points I'm behind and how many transfers I have left, but I'm out of the country for the last 2 weeks of September, I know I'll be able to get internet access.....but eff it....I'll be on holiday :D

The August/September thing is only mentioned on the Prize section.

I entered some teams specifically aimed at the first monthly, but if I'd realised how much time was involved I wouldn't have bothered. I'm using it as a learning experience mainly. While I doubt I will win it now, I've learned a lot. Getting used to the the new site, doing transfers under pressure, making mistakes, trying different tactics, etc, has been invaluable experience for my seasonal attempts. I feel like I've done a years work in two weeks and there's still 5 weeks of the monthly to go

When you posted this I thought you were implying that you'd read the rules thoroughly, looking at the amount of transfers you've used you were obviously under the same impression as me.

No. I never break the 1st commandment. However, I have been known to break the 7th :)

We may be thinking about different commandments

These are the ones I was refering to: the-10-commandments-t2.html

1. Thou shalt always read the rules thoroughly.
2. Thou shalt not penalise thyself by entering thy team too early.
3. Thou shalt pick a balanced team and maintain flexibility in all positions.
4. Thou shalt board the One True Bandwagon, however late ye be.
5. Thou shalt not worship 'Carlos Kickaball' until he has proven himself in the EPL.
6. Thou shalt remember that Form is Temporary, Class is Permanent.
7. Thou shalt covet thy transfers and shalt not Tinker; Fantasy Football is a Marathon, not a Sprint!
8. Thou shalt not let thy heart rule thy head, nor make any judgements after drinking!
9. Thou shalt have no other forums but FISO.
10. Thou shalt remember that all commandments are there to be broken.

I agree Leo, it needs a lot of time ....and consideration.

Something I haven't found time for this season, yet.

I feel happier when I know what I'm doin', not that it helped me other seasons.
So this year, I wonder when I'll put my foot in the stirrups ...and start a charge. (I wish).

I gotta make a 1st transfer this weekend. Got 12 teams. 2 weeks gone, 5 to go for the month, so it's possible to catch up. ; )
