Was that their GET OUT OF JAIL FREE card played Lip? After CR7 and Rafael finished up on the field.

i wonder if a decent ref will be calling the shots on the INTER game, you might need a a homer again.

Step 5 successfully negotiated. Big 3 games coming up though. 3 wins would see the season really take off. :D

2 draws and you're curtains. I think they'll come when Liverpool play Arsenal at home and West Ham away.

Been some time since Arsenal beat Liverpool , probably around the same time when you last cracked a joke that made me laugh.
I'm not sure where Uniteds next point comes on that perfomance yesterday. I thought they had used up all their get-out-of-jail free cards, they definately have now.

anyway 2 comfortable home wins this week for the Mighty pool.

An Arsenal win would be lovely but a draw would be fine.
And I'm not here to make you laugh Dot, simply to educate you.

If United play like that again this season they'll be in trouble but hopefully returning players and a bit of confidence will do the trick.

Back on topic, the fixture congestion is largely settled - plenty of games to be played (hopefully) but dates are in place for all of them. The big misconception is that United will catch up when they pay Portsmouth on the 22nd. In actual fact they'll be regularly having 2 games in hand on liverpool if only for a few hours/a day, on most weekends and midweeks, and not actually draw level on games until 13th May at Wigan.

Can Manchester United do the lot? I have no idea and it will certainly be very difficult but, having looked at the remaining fixtures, they are split nicely into 4 groups of 3 games in 7 days.

Everton (Fa Cup), Portsmouth H, Spurs H

Arsenal (CL), Middlesbrough A, Arsenal (CL)

City H, Wigan A, Arsenal H

Hull A, CL Final, FA Cup Final

Each of those groups of games are winnable and not all the games have to be won so it might be possible.

Don't you mean 3 groups of 3 games in 7 days and then Hull away?

Manchester United's next 4 fixtures will define their season. Wins (if achieved) against Middlesbrough (A), Manchester City (H) and Wigan (A) as well as a positive result against Arsenal at The Emirates would mean that the title is in the bag as well as a CL final appearance. This would allow players to be rested for the last 2 games of the season to be fresh for the CL final.

The Times have added a nice new graphic for us:

....but it doesn't have much shelf life. About 5 hours with a bit of luck.
