Well, Garrido has already moved on to Lazio, so that's been taken care of...

Jo is not on the list, and there may be more, for all I know.

There's a few over 21 that aren't listed on FPL yet;

Robinho, Jo, Caicedo, Etuhu and David Gonzalez (some random 28 yr old Colombian keeper I've never heard of)

Looks like a number of players like Bellamy, Ireland, etc. could be heading to Fulham to be with old manager Mark Hughes. Or they could join other clubs because there is no way they're going to fit all the players they have just signed and the ones from last season. They're either going to have to sell or keep them in the stands.

Adebeyor told he can leave as well.

At least that means it's one less stupid captaincy I will make this season!

Do you have a source for the Adebayor news?

Was Adam Johnson taking any free-kicks or corners last season?

If Balotelli was to sign, what position is he likely to take up? I'd assume Adebayor would be come 2nd choice and we'd be looking at a front 4 of Tevez, Balotelli, Johnson, and Silva for the most part.

City are going to have to get things sorted out as soon as possible. Not just for the sakes of us at FPL world but the fans {like me}. Less than two weeks til kick-off and they sure as hell better know their starting 11 by then. They need to train together as well as play together and with a squad of 300 I am starting to worry they may suffer a worse season than last time as 11 strangers run onto the field...

In a way yes, but realistically, I'd expect there to be max. 4 new faces in the opening day lineup.

That's great but a few of them still look lost from last season...

I 've not even bothered looking at the Man City squad list yet :|

I think the whole club is in a perpetual state of flux and transition at the minute and wouldn't even put faith in the manager being at the club by Christmas and then the whole "preparing for next season when we can break into the top four" scenario can start in earnest again like last season.

I'm happy to wait until GW 4 at the earliest to get a picture of how they are set up and are performing.

I expect that they will be strong performers at home and will struggle on occasion to get points away - so will be looking for a home-heavy glut of fixtures before I move for one of their players.

I'd like to see them do well this season but I think Mancini needs to pick 11 players and stick with em.

There's nothing to suggest he won't - he did last season (at the expense of the likes of Ireland) and took us from 10th place to 5th, within the space of half a season.

Is this right, Man City have to sell 12 players or put players in the reserves in just over a week?

Because?

If you mean the "homegrown" thing, and 25 player squad. They currently have approx 21 "non-homegrowners", of whom they can only name 17. Not sure how many "homegrown" they have. Check the City Specialised thread. Off the top of my head Given (if he signed for an English Club, before his 18th birthday, or add one to the non homegrown total), Hart, S Taylor, Richards, Bridge, Ireland, Barry, SWP and Bellamy make 9. Onouha is still U21, but not sure about Richards.

I would guess that they currently have about 30-32 over 21, and must trim it to 25, with around 4 non-homegrown to go and one or two homegrowners.

I thought that Man City need to get rid of 12 before the season starts http://forums.liverpoolfc.tv/showthread.php?t=186119

but then i read this http://desigunner.wordpress.com/2010/07 ... -too-many/

Jo has been playing in friendlies, and Robinho's loan has not been extended, so I believe.

Once the season starts and if they do settle on a consistent line up then I think there will be some bargains in there, especially in defence where they should be more solid than last year.

Kolarov and Boateng should be good for 6.0 and their entire midfield (bar Silva) will be less than 7.5.

The only thing is, I can see them buying another 5 and losing 10 by the end of the transfer window. Adebayor, Bellamy and RSC out would only leave Tevez in attack.

I'm not sure City fullbacks are going to be worth picking at all. Mancini says he needs two quality players in every position to see them through the season, and he thinks he has that in Kolarov and Bridge at LB anyway. I'm expecting massive rotation throughout the squad, with Kolarov certain to play most, if not all, CL games, and Bridge picking up the easier PL games. It's a shame really, as I think that Kolarov has great potential.

City aren't in the CL: they're on in the Europa league, which is a different standard of opposition entirely (in the early rounds at least). To me, it would make more sense to focus the strongest team on the league and send the backups to far-flung away games on Thursday nights where they'll hope to impress enough to break into the real team. Who knows how Mancini sees it though?

Sorry, getting carried away with myself there. Maybe you're right on that one then - something to think about.

I do remember gambling last season and eventually giving up on putting money on the europa league games as you could never guarantee which clubs were actually taking it seriously. Some of the squads being put out were a total lottery.

Not from the start but if he plays and performs then it just depends on his pricetag...

Tonight City won the last Pre-season game against Valencia. The starting line up were quite different from earlier games:

Hart
Richards-Boateng-Kompany-Kolarov
Barry-Y.Toure-De jong
Tevez-Adebayor-Silva

With Mancini quite known for playing 3 defensive central midfielders is this what we can expect even with all that fantastic offensive qualities City have to offer? I was hoping Yaya and either of barry/DJ would do it, playing all three of them puts alot of great players on the bench(SWP, A.Johnson, Robinho?, Bellamy?...)

After only half an hour both Tevez and Silva got subsituted for SWP and Johnson, the later was truly brilliant on his wing. It would hurt so much transfering Adam Johnson out of my team just to see him being great, still, I can't see any room for him in a 4-3-3?
