I've checked the links above and can't find any no-frills airlines flying to Helsinki from London. Does anyone know of one?

Or is my best bet to fly to Tampere and take the train? Or Tallinn and take the boat?

I have used this website to save loadsamoney. There is a map which you can use to plot your way around Europe. For example, I often fly Aberdeen to Dublin by Ryan Air for next to nothing and then the world opens up via Easyjet, Aer lingus etc !!! It also means that I can have a day in Dublin either side of my break in temple bar !! I know of at least one small airline that's not listed but the way to check this is check the website of the airport in question and that should list any obscure carriers that fly in or out.

Anyone researched the German airlines for the world cup.

I have found

Easyjet
ryanair
airberlin
Luftansa

plus the regular BMi, BMIbaby, BA etc

Anyone have other unknown local german carriers. I am sure thare is something ...wings but can't find it on search engines.

I went to the World Athletics in Helsinki last year. Flew into Tampere and then hired a car and drove up - only a couple of hours, and pretty guaranteed to be no traffic as there's nothing there!

Use the usual suspects a lot but getting increasingly frustrated with this kind of thing.

PAYMENT DETAILS
********51.96 GBP Adult
********64.22 GBP Taxes,Fees & Charges
********14.72 GBP Aviation / WCHR Levy
*********0.00 GBP Car Rental
*********0.00 GBP Insurance
*******130.90 GBP Total Paid

The fare was £12.99 each way. Extras inc. baggage charges inc hand luggage and card payment fees + taxes etc.

Just want a true fare - not a lot to ask they think we are idiots.

That was a Ryanair booking. Easyjet are similar.

Already mentioned:

Flight search engine which can show you the lowest price fare between any two points. Good for 12 months. Great for those weekly flyers trying to identify busy periods, so you can book up in advance.

Dutch low cost carrier opertaing from Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Eindhoven and Paris

Ryannair are a joke.

I've just discovered that I can fly from my local airport Bournemouth to Limoges now :D , but my heart sank when I realised it was Ryannair.

Ticket to Limoges £2.99 per person
Ticket back again £0.99 per person

Taxes/Fees £255.75

Why don't they just tell the bl**dy truth? Who do they think they're kidding? Idiots

The Ferry companies are just as bad;

£310 with a car. I know, we'll go as foot passengers and hire a car at the other end.
Price for five foot passengers; £280  So my car can go for £30 but the passengers who'll be eating and drinking their overpriced products have to fork out £56 each. :(
