Please excuse my ignorance of the foul rule here but is that a big fat zero for Keane fans?

Hold your horses m'lud. If Keane's appeal is successful, maybe on closer examination, the plasticene is unmarked?

The Welsh contingent have clearly been training hard at altitude up the Welsh moutains. *Monkey Magic* and Tort have both put in excellent first attempts along with Carlos the Finger, Bagpuss, Slarty and stay classy. We have no Englishmen or even any Brits putting in a similar performance.

Papa Giddy, Sligorover and brogie opt for very safe jumps. Perhaps our eleven foul jumpers should take note for attempt two.

Some of the reasons for the disqualifications were quite unusal. After the disaster in the 100 meters SgB decided to jump in his powerskips.

Image

His 18.72 meter jump was, of course, disqualified.

murf got confused and opened a stall in the infield.

http://www.thewoollyjumper.com/

flyingkillercob was reminded by officials that flying is not permitted in the long jump.

djnuttie ran straight through the long jump pit and out of the staduim. Official are trying to catch him up to let him know it's a long jump not a marathon.

UEM grmble he's not built for this event, but wait for the shot put!

WHATEVER, are you an American in exile in East Anglia? I'm not liking the look of words like "meters" and "Results Center"

The proof reader is indeed an American and therefore the spelling of Center is down to him. There were no complaints last year and his services were secured again for this year. (He's a nice chap so I wouldn't want to upset him)

He does, however, take no responsibility for the use of the word Meter :)

Many competitors have managed to squeeze out a few extra centimetres to improve their decathlon scores this week, but the leaders remain unchanged. Quite a few fouls once again this week.

Fingerpass and Hairybear look to be in deep trouble hear with their second foulds in a row. Both made big jumps but marked the plasticine. I'm sure they Scharn't be Keane to score zero for the long jump. It will be a long way back in this competition if they don't record a safe jump this week.

Same here. After finishing last in the 100m and failing my first long jump attempt things weren't looking too promising. Glad to finally be doing something right in this comp!

Is a sending off, then a own goal and finally a missed pen considered a classic foul out?

It's like taking performance-enhancing drugs, stamping all over the plasticine, then walking the wrong way out of the sand!

M-Boy almost jumps out of the sand pit to take first place in the long jump. In the most inspirsed transfer in FPL history he brought in Marcus Bent. M-Boy moves into first place overall. Many other athletes saved the best until last squeezing out some vital extra points.

Two of Hairybear's fans explain to him exactly what they think of his long jump performance.

Maybe i'm missing something, it looks like i got less for scoring 17 points in GW than all those who best score was 16 (in GW 3)

?

Could it have anything to do with the 4 point hits for making more than one change each week?

It's to do with the "factored points", which depend on the GW average. Doing well in a low-scoring GW is a distinct advantage here.

Hairybear's doing as well in this as he would in a real decathlon. He's a HORRIBLE athlete. :D

That's the trick... all scores are levelled to a gameweek average. This is a new feature introduced by this years FISOlympic organising committee, (WHATEVER), think of it as adjusting for altitude - and prevents dbl-gws etc perverting the scores.

To do well you have not only to score well but also to score well compared to everyone else.

It's all in the Rules - but no one reads those :)

(Produced by RPG DB Enterprises - proud sponsor of the 2nd FISOlympiad - run and regulated by WHATEVER Inc)
