TOP 100

The Prossers - 7 leagues (top 6) - already discussed
FISO - 22 leagues - inhouse leagues
The Gills (THEWISEONE FISO ID) - 4 leagues - this family is effing good at fantasy sports!
The Edwards (andye FISO ID) - 20 leagues (last seasons leagues winner) - andy has a lot of friends :?
fan -footy - 3 leagues - similar to FISO I'd assume

How many legit leagues there?

Would be good to hear from Trevor and Andy about how their teams/leagues are getting on, it is a forum and they are members afterall.

From blessedbrian(whos wife won 20k in the sun last month), quote taken from last years discussion thread

blessedbrian wrote:

From the weekly email, so congrats to Andy and the other 4 managers in that league  :D

why the wink?

discuss.......

I'm pretty sure that Andy's leagues are legit (if that's what you were getting at). I think that one of his league members was (and probably this season too) Andy Luckhurst. Not that surprising that they won last year then  they will probably be the ones to beat this time too.

Unfortunately, whenever anything has large sums of money on offer as prizes then I'm afraid you're going to get people bending the rules (or as I like to call it, cheating).

Let's hope the Daily Mail disqualify anyone who has entered more than the allowed 5 teams by using the names of every bl**dy relation they've got (it is a free to enter game after all and they don't stand to lose anything).

The odd random phone call to speak to these remarkably knowledgeable aunties, nieces and nephews etc would soon sort out the cheats.

Looking at the overall leaderboard, I also wonder if Matt Rust's and Steven Rust's teams are managed by the same person and also whether Steven Rusty and Steve Rust are one and the same person. The number of Prosser teams can surely not be a coincidence, I agree not bending the rules but cheating blatantly Mr Cheating F**K$R Prosser, but C F Prosser's problem will be that a cheque cannot be written out to Mr C F Prosser unless his team overhauls the teams entered by the rest of the Prosser clan. Also Marlene Emery appears at the bottom of the overall leaderboard and Mr Emery at the top of the montly leaderborad, I don't know Marlene was a mans name.

The cheating is seriously annoying as I am doing well this season, currently around the 200 mark with two teams and it would be good to know how well I am doing without those cheats above me.

The Prossers in the TOP 100

LucieVictoria 2nd 44th
Karen 5th 59th
Lilibeth 15th 26th 27th
John 19th 92nd
Samuel 21st 80th
Dean 29th 33rd
Pamela 51st 86th

The Prossers in the top 100 Superleagues (will more surface next week after tonights cutoff?)

1 Miss Prosser leave arsene alone 914.60
2 Miss Prosser p f 1 906.40
3 Miss Prosser rooneys frollicles 900.80
4 Mr Prosser keep the faith 885.60
5 Mr Prosser nightingales 247 861.80
6 Mr Prosser cescalators 838.00
14 Mr Prosser swee fa chance 813.78

So 15% of the top 100 are of the Prosser clan, 100% of the top 5 Superleagues are the Prossers and we know from their top 6 leagues that other names on the leaderboard are part of the syndicate due to the average scores.
And for 3 weeks+ now the Mail are 'investigating'.

I've had enough of waiting, next stop a second email mentioning watchdog. Followed up by contacting watchdog if they still remain in 28 days from now.

What happened to the previous thread in relation to Prosser and did anyone actually get a response from the Mail?

It's 'fantasygames' (on behalf of the Mail)

I am only frustrated as nothing was done last season, it shouldn't matter if cheats don't win in the end (as the Prossers didn't last season), they should be snuffed out asap as they could affect how others act with their own teams ie. panic transferring to catch them up, of course a trait of a beginner but still unfair if a beginner has found themself in a good position.

I agree, it's totally unfair.

Prosser must be a very poor PLAYER if he can't win with that amount of teams but as you rightly pointed out it's other entrants being forced to make moves that they normally wouldn't do if the playing field was level, not to mention all those who just packed in their teams because of it.

I share your frustration CT as you well know.

Here are some of the questions I will submit once chuck PM's me the email address.
Quote:
Mini Leagues
I am very upset at the flagrant disregard some have for your rules and how it seems multi entrant mini leagues from the same family pepper the top of the leaderboard again this year.

I appreciate how difficult it is to manage such a difficult issue. Before I consider contacting the gambling commission I would respectly request the following information:-

• What risk assessment you have made of potential multi-entrant individuals before the competition commences?
• What options have you considered to enforce this rule and regulation?
• What steps do you take during the competition to assess multi entrant individuals?
• What steps do you take post competition to review multi-entrant individuals?
• A full breakdown of the prize money paid out in the last 5 years?
• A breakdown of the prize money in the last 5 years has not been paid out?
• How much money in the last 5 years has not been paid out because the individual does not match the entry?
• How many individual prizes in the last 5 years has not been paid out because the individual does not match the entry?
• How much money has had to be re-issued and paid to a different individual than the person entered in the last 5 years?
• How many individual prizes has had to be re-issued and paid to a different individual than the person entered in the last 5 years?
• How many teams have you challenged in the last 5 years?
• How many teams have you unsuccessfully challenged in the last 5 years?
• How many teams have you successfully challenged in the last 5 years?

What I don't think is helpful casting aspersions on fellow FISOers without knowing the full facts in their particular circumstances. I have been approached by a number of people (who shall remain nameless) outside the normal threads for this comp, and others, to see if I've teams high enough for inclusion in mini leagues due, in the main to my past performance in this comp.

IMO it is normal and the usual strong players (I just got lucky last year and don't count myself as a strongplayer) group together, I suspect that is happening.

If we take a step back here what we are doing by setting up mini leagues of 5 strangers to win a prize could be considered going against the spirit of what The Mail are offering as a mini league prize.

I play this comp mainly as a head to head against a mate who is not a member of FISO but consistently has at least few teams in the top 500, he is thrashing me this year. I could throw his teams into the ring for mini leagues but as he's not part of the FISO community it does not feel 100% right and I know it would not sit right with him either.

I am sure the organisers intended to encourage group of mates/family to compete against each other rather than for a systematic plan to scoop the prize. We need to be careful the pressure we apply as it is possible the prize will be withdrawn as it is against the spirit ofwhich it was intended.

These are just my views and my opinion, and I fully appreciate other peoples' strong views on the matter, hence showing my support by sending the above email.

BUT......I have no idea what your team is and you have no idea what my team is! The Prossers do and the teams will be very very similar.

Plus we are in genuine competition with each other too.

Surely he was simply getting at the fact that he was one of the other four successful managers in that league? I'm pretty sure Geoff had a team finish quite high up.

Another reply from the Mail stating that all teams suspected of cheating will be investigated this week, chairmen contacted and if any suspicion of rule breaking has occured these teams will be removed by the end of this week.

Don't hold your breath though.

It's a good spot, but they'll just say it's works leagues and probably get away with it.

Now all we have to do is somehow find out that the CEO earns more than the Prime Minister and the Daily Mail might take some action

Yes - MLs gone and the Prosser named teams gone but Rust, Thornton etc still there. Obvious from Rusts post on FB that he isn't managing that team. I wonder what Prosser said to his new employee when he read that post on Facebook.

I've just seen this. Nice work! Just need to get rid of those suspicious 'Mr Edwards' leagues now and it should be there for the taking for the fiso ones.

;)

Have they made any kind of statement anywhere or just quietly removed them without saying anything? :?
