with uncertainty over the likes of kompany and silva, the prospect of darren bent being supplied by steven gerrard or gary cahill attacking juan mata corners, or even henry bedding in and rediscovering his best I have decided to leave my wildcard til the very last week. I imagine quite a few will be doing the same.

I am now in a position to take a few risks, players you'd never normally consider but with the fall back of being able to do wholesale changes in an eventual wildcard in 2 or 3 gws time and the failure that was the double gw some surprising names become somewhat appealing.

For example like many I was duped by the woeful everton so have drenthe and donovan to shift

im considering players like danny murphy, james milner and jordan henderson unlikely names but with very nice fixtures, that could pay dividends with their minuscule ownership

is anyone else playing the game this way and if so, who are your suggestions as unlikely heroes over the next two or three gws?

also just so im clear you can wildcard up until 24 right(so activate during 23)? so up until the deadline for the arsenal v blackburn round of fixtures in gw24

James McClean at Sunderland will be my only punt as he is cheap and I need a 5th midfielder. Anything I get is a bonus. I dont see much need for taking punts at this point in the season when there are enough stick on players who have performed well to choose from.

I need differentials, so am gambling on McClean and possibly McEachran too. Bale, Valencia and Silva is currently my midfield three, but if there were any better options Silva would be gone. Everyone has got him.

I'm glad I'm using my wildcard now because there are fewer new signings to tempt me. Could do without a team of Bosellis at this stage of the season.

I'm taking a gamble on Gerrard as my main midfielder over Silva and Nani.

You're on your wildcard though aren't you? That's not what this thread is about.

I'm playing my wild card now. I won my mini league last season but I'm not doing so well this year. I need to make up about 100 points so the need for drastic action has arrived.

Every team I look at has so many of the same players. This season seems worse than usual. The following players or combination of, seem to be in everyones squad:

Vorm/Krul
J Enrique, R Taylor, P Jones, Kompany, Assou Ekotto
Bale, Silva, Nani, Walters, Sessegnon
Van Persie, Aguero, Yakubu, Adebayor

Its very difficult to make any gains this season. Perhaps the only way is predictating the next big points scorers. Gerrard, Bent, Lampard, Mata, Van Der Vaart could all potentially bring in decent scores. My season as it stands is going nowhere so no real harm in having a gamble! Any suggestions for alternatives to the masses?

I've a funny feeling for David Luiz this week.

My transfer this week will need to be a defender transfer as I've got Enrique, BAE, Ward, Jags and Hibbert. The last two are injured and Ward is certainly not being played this week.

My eye is on the following players...

Luiz - funny feeling
Warnock
Riise

3 gw wonders then bomb out the squad forever, fulham, lpool, even sunderland if you see chances v chelsea fall into the bracket of potential targets

guilt free risks with a wildcard coming up

falls perfectly for decent henry fixtures/kompanys end of ban/new signings

I am thinking the same but I might not do this now... as I don't want to go into battle against you with the same weapons as you in the 5AS's this weekend. :P

I still have 2 WCs and 2m in the bank. This week I must replace Jags. I'm probably going for Glen Johnson who has 3 reasonable fixtures pre WC deadline. Then next week a Drenthe replacement "I'm giving him one more chance".

I might (might) put Torres in my team for the next game as the way Norwich play will suit his style of play. I can take him out subsequently with my WC

Will Bellamy start next week? Thinking of taking a punt on

Adebayor --> Bellamy

for one week only. Thoughts?
