Hello music followers of FISO, just wondering if any of you have a Last.Fm music account and wish to let yourselves be known and if you don't have one, maybe you would be interested in joining this great, long living, music site/tool.

It tracks all the music you listen to on Spotify, itunes, Window's Media Player and various other listening modes and makes personal charts and recommendations based on what you listen to.

Just thought we could maybe start some sort of FISO sub-community based on this site, and highlight just what a good tool it can be to aid our listening habits.

I haven't got a lastfm account, but I have considered signing up, but have just never got round to it. I don't really know all the ins and outs and maybe this thread will be an eye opener for me, so cheers for starting the thread!

I see by your link you've just seen Wild Nothing. I saw them (him?) at the Green Man Festival the weekend just gone (Saturday I think) and loved them. They were one of the artists I wanted to check out based on the little I'd heard, and they didn't disappoint. One of my highlights of a great festival! 8-)

Nice Echo & The Bunnymen plays, that New Order station churned out some decent tracks for you.

Should use it more, if you listen to music online though Bloggie :)

It's really very simple MD, If you sign up I will link you the scrobbling software that tracks your music and you will get the hang of it in no time, it's terribly addictive once you started browsing for new music.

And yes, I went to see Wild Nothing, he was mindblowing. Some really pretty shoegaze sounds, that totally takes me away in a live setting.

Was a great iPod app till they crippled it by trying to charge.

My account probably has some quality scrobbles on tho

Yeah, it's picked up about 32,000 songs that you have listened to in the past. Very good library you have too.

Particularly like:

Eels
Wilco
The Lemonheads
Miles Davis
Sufjan Stevens
Tom Waits
Pavement

They have subscribed members fee that is a few pounds a month (which I pay)

but has no real advantage over the free one except that you get beta testing priority and can see who views your profile, apart from that it's basically a full free service.

Have turned on scrobbling in Spotify. However, my 2 daughters use Spotify as much as me, so the music may well be dominated by Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Example, etc etc Will be a strange mix that's for sure

Aha - I see - I can see what I have played in decending order - Leona Lewis in at no. 2 - that is Mrs K - honest .

Eels at No.1 too.

I guess it syncs plays back from my ipods.

Nice feature - I will have a look at some other people's lists and I will also turn on scrobbling in spotify, (per unc above), once I work out what that actually means.

Have I really played The Duke & The King – Water Spider 68 times!

Bloggie - you have a deep deep Namaste habit

I've added you as a Last.fm friend Knulpuk, not sure if you know how to accept it

once we get a few more FISO members I will create a FISO discussion board on last.fm for us and we will be able to see what the general consensus charts are of the forum, should be interesting to see 8-)

I'm sure with all this listening you appear to do, it would be a great tool for you Spiny!

I would expect to see Joni Mitchell and Fairport Convention high up your charts 8-)

Something tells me you might be the sort of guy who is into Robert Wyatt aswell? ...just a hunch

The Namaste is more a religious thing that's always on in the background seperate from when I have a music session.
