You're in.

How it works:
Everybody submits their team prior to the start of the season.
Each weekend you will play another manager.
It will be your points against his points.
Winner (manager with the most points) gets 3 points, draw 1 point (and obviously the loser gets none).
Points scored will count as your goal difference (both for and against).
Only the weekend scores will count.
For the purposes of this competition, Saturday to Monday (inc) will count as the weekend.
This is so we are playing on a level footing and everybody should have a chance of having all their team available (subject to injury and selection).

Fixtures
Fixtures will be decided prior to the season starting.
Fixtures will be arranged to avoid cup weekends etc where possible.
Should any games get cancelled, then that's the luck of the draw, so tough.

Format
I hope to have 30 managers willing to take part.
If so, the intention is to have 3 divisions of 10 teams (but this may be amended dependent on the number of willing participants).

EPL season will be split into 3 La Log seasons.

Each “season” all teams in the same division will play each other once.

The top 2 teams will be promoted and the bottom 2 teams will be relegated.

Divisions will initially be based on how they finished last season (dependent on entrants).

Season and individual game dates will be published once the number of managers is confirmed.

Transfers
Transfers will be done between La Log seasons and NOT as per Sun game.

There will be 3 transfers allowed at each window.

To accommodate for managers dropping out (and allowing new managers to enter); we will use the average FISO team as a baseline. If a new manager wants to join in at Phase 2, they make their 3 transfers to the average FISO team. This is intended to be a fair option (whilst not allowing the new manager to simply pick the 11 best players in the game).

An existing manager CANNOT scrap his team in favour of the FISO average team.

Points
Points will be taken from the Sun website.
Every effort will be made to take the most accurate score (but this is dependent on the scores/data available to me). God help us!

Team Entry
Your team should be selected according to the Sun rules, budget etc.
If you decide to enter, you will need to send me your team via PM (giving the three digit numerbs).

I will announce dates for entry in the coming weeks.

Season 1 will kick off on the first or second weekend of the EPL. Teams will not have to be submitted until closer to that date.

Cup Competition
There will also be a cup competition to be run in parallel. It will be FA Cup stylee for all teams in all divisions.

This game is just for fun and your team doesnt have to be officially entered.

Many thanks,Zim,for explaining how it works - I put my name down for it in lemming like fashion, simply because I figured that if everyone else wanted "in",it must be worth joining I see you've already got another recruit as a result

My only real concern,is that this project must be so time consuming for you,that you'll be in danger of neglecting your policing of people using their "Quote" button,instead of "Reply" - btw,I think that if the position of these buttons were swopped,the problem would be substantially reduced, though that may not be within Admin's control

I'd like to add that Zim not only updates the scores and leagues on a very regular basis for all to view but publishes a very good weekly summary (both witty and factual) of what's been going on in all of the leagues that particular weekend.
You also get to look at all of the teams (player by player) in all of the leagues (after KO obviously)......and can interact with all of the other leagues on the forum as well as your own (all friendly('ish!!)).
Final great point about zim's game is come the turn of the year (January)...all of the teams can enter La Log Cup....knockout random draw.
We're all off a level playing field (£50mill).....it's just like 'real' football in the '70's....anyone can go up......anyone can go down!!

So, I can just pretend to enter a team in the official comp? - Excellent idea!
