Jules

Your site as been invaluable to me this year, as used to use the paper on Saturday to do the scores for our mini league, but that has become a joke. So all my weekly updates are taken from your site.

Thanks for all the hard work on the site its great.

Cheers

Ian

Once again, thanks for the great site. It's been my one-stop shop for stats for the Sun game.

This is probably a dumb question but here goes anyway... at the start of next season, will you include a column that rates the players PPM value based on last season's points but the new season's value? You may well have had this at the start of this season - I don't think I looked however. :)

If Jules doesn't do it, i always put that stuff in my spreadsheet based stats (both PPM and PPM^0.4 etc).

The scores in the weekly column aren't updating from week 35 onwards, is it something I am doing wrong.

Has anyone else got a list of players weekly scores from Monday to Sunday if not please as the Sun is now useless for doing my weekly points update.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Melvin

You can do a custom points query (bottom option in the second menu (from my memory... So don't quote me)).
Then you can specify the dates for when you want the points for (week by week).

Hi Melvin,

It was a typo in the SQL that filters out the scores for each week. It should be fixed now.

Jules had added a "Donate" button to the site.

So if you've found his site useful this season and it has helped win a works league or whatever, you might want to consider a small donation towards the upkeep of the site and to pay for next seasons hosting costs etc.

(he's too modest to ask you to do this himself!)

Ok, I've not spent much time on it yet but I've reconfigured the site ready for the World Cup. I've still got a couple of things to finish, but the player points part of it is all set up ready for the first match.

I'll be working on adding new features throughout the World Cup, so make sure you check back every so often to see what useful information has appeared.

If you're wondering about the Premier League player stats, I've not got rid of them, I just haven't had time to change the website enough to put last season's data on there. Rest assured though, it will return at some point, certainly in time for the forthcoming league season.

I've added a donate button to the homepage, as I realised the donate button was only visible to those who were logged in to their user account!

I've also adjusted the 'Points per Phase' report so that it shows the Phase 4 total as well as the breakdown of which knockout round the points were scored.

I will be preparing the site for the Premier League season over the next couple of weeks, so as soon as it is ready you will be able to access last season's statistics. Hopefully it will be finished to coincide with the launch of the DreamTeam Premier League game.

I still have plenty of plans for adding new features, but I simply haven't had the time to implement them yet.

You need to readdress your priorities my friend.
Never mind selfishly entering teams and trying to win money for yourself, you should be prepping things ready to hand information to us lot on a plate.

You should be going on the dream team visit and asking for a job.
I bet they would pay you a 6 figure salary no problem. Just think of allthose fewer complaint phone calls to man all day with gross mistakes.. You'll cut that all out.

Again, not had enough time to work on the site, but I have uploaded last seasons version of the website to here:
http://www.julianandsarah.com/dreamteam/0910/

It's a bit of a bodge, but it'll have to do for now!

To make it easier for those who like to work with printouts, I've also made an Excel version of the main reports:
http://www.julianandsarah.com/dreamteam/files/DreamTeam_2009-10_Statistics.xls

There's a lot to do to get the site ready for the new season, so if anyone fancies a job, I'm sure I could find some tasks that need doing, such as formatting the premier league fixtures list into the columns I need (I'll supply an Excel file for you to edit for me). Send me a PM if you want to help.

I have finished putting together the Archive for the 2009-10 Premier League season as well as the World Cup game. When you enter each archive, you will see the Latest News button turn into a green 'Exit Archive' button, along with a warning message so that you know you're not looking at the current season's stats.

There will be a few new features introduced over the course of the season. One of these will be to analyse player appearances per club, using a chart similar to what was in the Sun's World Cup Guide. In a similar vein, I'll be producing two colourful charts, one showing each team's defensive performance and one for their attacking performance. Other new features will include a singular match stats report and singular player report containing lots of statistics on one page.

Would have been nice to have had just one offer to help  Instead I spent two hours formatting fixtures rather than developing some useful new features...

Check out the new reports for the 09/10 season under the Club Stats menu :D :

Another new report to get your teeth into... In the Zarch stats style but including Extra points (which are Pen Save points and Hat-Trick Bonus points):
http://www.julianandsarah.com/dreamteam/0910/points_expanded.asp

It's useful for seeing how many points defenders lost the most points from conceding goals last season (unsurprisingly Wigan defenders):
http://www.julianandsarah.com/dreamteam/0910/points_expanded.asp?status=DEF&sortBy=GOALS_AGAINST_POINTS&sortDir=DESC&shortlist=

...and for showing which strikers scored their points through ratings rather than goals (such as Davies, Bellamy, Kuyt and Doyle):
http://www.julianandsarah.com/dreamteam/0910/points_expanded.asp?status=STR&sortBy=RATINGS_POINTS&sortDir=DESC&shortlist=

I was wondering.. which keepers made the most saves last season? Does this indicate whether the defence was as good as everyone thoought or was the keeper doing all the hard work? Ie were B'ham great cos of hart or was he actually being shielded much better than other teams? is this a sensible query? or will it just generate meaningless stats? I hope the former..

I've added a price filter to all the reports so that you can look at just the players you want within a price range, such as defenders between £3.0m and £4.0m:
http://www.julianandsarah.com/dreamteam/points.asp?status=DEF&min=3.0&max=4.0&sortBy=VALUE&sortDir=DESC

I've also cleaned up the print version so that you don't get so much junk at the top and bottom of the page.

I've put together a report showing this years players and prices with last season's stats:
http://www.julianandsarah.com/dreamteam/points_detail_preseason.asp

It's filterable by price and you can sort on any column. Any players that have switched positions from last season have an Info icon next to their name, which if you hover over you'll see what position they were.

Damn useful it is! :D
