Does anybody know if he's back? FPL have him as fit, although none of the pre match previews have mentioned him.

Would love to know this too. Need a Jagielka replacement and already have Newcastle/Swansea/Liverpool/City/Spurs cover.

I think he will start. He was on the bench for the Man City game so I can't see why he wouldn't be fit to play.

Is he a help or a hinderence to the defence?

For me he will only play if smalling or ferdinand doesnt play. Smalling had been playing at right back when they had a lot of injuries allowing evans to play centre back. Jones had to play in midfield due to injured midfielders. Now they have anderson back and also scholes. The defence now is likely to be jones smalling ferdinand and evra in my opinion.

Not sure why anyone would want Evans?
IMO Evans makes Man Utd weaker, Man Utd will line up with...
Smalling, Jones, Ferdinand, Evra anyway, if youre after a cheap Man Utd player in the hope of a Clean sheet, go for GK Lindegard.

I will be leaving Man Utd defenders alone until Jones & Smalling are back fully fit, then i'll have a look.

I think he'll start. His game has improved lately (before this recent minor injury) and SAF seems to have a lot of faith in him. At the moment he's a slightly better centre back than Jones, and Smalling is just (possibly) returning from injury. A Smalling alongside Rio would be preferable to Evans only in the event of Kevin Davies starting for Bolton.

Also depends on whether Fergie feels Evans has forgiven him for supposed Xmas antics. Hopefully he has by now.
