Should we execute 10 year old children ?
Should we incarcerate 10 year old children for a decade and then execute them ?
Should we incarcerate 10 year old children for life ? {a life sentence meaning life could be worse than a death sentence depending on the person}.

I think life in general is unfair, people are a product of their environment, people also assimulate to their environment .

Some youngsters have been damaged by their upbringing, I think they will to a greater or lesser degree always remain damaged, so does society say to a damaged child that has committed a terrible crime, we are going to lock you away for life with the 'life is unfair' quote, or do we try and mend them and turn them back out into society and hope they dont commit further serious crimes when there must be a chance of that happening and then tell a possible future victim/victims family sorry 'life is unfair'.
Either way its unfair on somebody, as far as we know Thompson (Venables buttie) and Mary Bell for that matter have not reoffended, Venables has, although not another murder, all three of them had terrible upbringings.
It is reported that Mary Bell has children/child of her own.

Its a job to know whats the right thing for society to do in such circumstances, publishing a photograph of an adult murderer and printing their name fine, but should the press have done that for 10 year old Venables and Thompson ?

Im for the death penalty for murder {although not strongly so}, I would like to see parents locked up if its proved they have abused or neglected their children and their children then commit crimes, so im hardly soft on crime but I am uneasy about locking child killers away for life when the child killers themselves have been victims of abuse.

It is the parents fault that these kids turn out the way they do. Just like dangerous dogs, its the owners fault and are punished. The parents should be punished and locked up as if they had committed the crime themselves, and the kids rehabilitated. However, if rehabilitation fails by their mid twenties, then there is little hope for them im afraid, and are a clear danger to society, and people like Venables should not be let out.

Did you hear the one about the Frenchwoman and her eight babies?
NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED

This is not a joke! This is society not working - shock tactics - sorry.

I've been drinking  so I couldn't read much of it. I just saw the photo and choked.

This, James Bulger, it's all connected in a way.

And I bet some people worry more about "the pound" at the end of the day!

:x
