Well it's happened, captain fantastic is out for the 1st month!

So who steps up now assuming everybody has him in their squad? Is Tal Ben Haim a guaranteed starter now or is Alex the 3rd choice, is he even match fit? Surely Carvalho is nailed on now.

Well, who steps in to fill JT's shoes?

Never (in the last two seasons or this) had him.

Where's the "it's press bulls**t and I'm not dropping him" option ?

Possible ... although medial knee ligament damage doesn't sound much fun :?

Ben Haim is suddenly interesting again. Can have a lot of fun ploughing that 1.5mil further upfield :P

Edit: Physioroom  estimates JT to return for GW5 vs Villa 2nd Sept

Never had him penciled in, but now I might free up enough cash to get Ben Haim.

Evra and Ben Haim are my new pics after the cash freed up by dumping Terry.

I don't know if the community shield game is any indication of the coming season, but Evra's constantly up in the forward press, got the assist for Giggs, fired a good shot that went wide, and all around looks like the defender to pick from ManU: Vidic is solid but mostly invisible offensively; Rio fell down during the Malouda goal.

Nearly every other player I've picked is now injured.

I'd plump for Ben Haim.

Don't you jinx him

Waiting for MOTD before passing judgement but Radio High5 reported a few shaky / clumsy moments :? Also a shove in the back of Vidic - penalty shout

I'm willing to accept money to pick players who you don't want starting the season.

I'll pick Newcastle players for free though.

I thought TBH did quite well.

I thought that Utd were very shakey at the back. Silvestre was his usual sloppy self.

Yes Evra did very well going forward, but don't forget that he was playing in midfield today which won't happen in the prem. I think SAF was just getting players matchfit.

Ben Haim seems a little rash in the challenge - card magnet? I had Terry and Carvalho in my defence, but none of the other Chelsea defenders appeal to me. Just have to decide whether to keep the cash in reserve for when Terry is fit, or spend it and accept he will probably not make it into my squad this year.

He's gone for Andy Taylor in my team, converting Earnshaw to AJ up front.

I guess he isn't in the same class as MGP to warrant an initialisation.

After yesterday's performances, I would imagine a lot have suddenly realised Evra could be quite good. Not many clean sheets though?
