I have activated my wildcard this week and am thinking it would be wise for me to get rid of Kompany while he is suspended. It seems that John Terry while expensive at £7.5 is the best option. What do people think of Terry in the short to mid term (5-10 games)? It seems Chelsea have a decent run of fixtures and that he is likely to play 90 mins in each if he doesn't pick up an injury. Also, he seems to be a target man for set pieces which is seeing him getting some goals and assists. Will Gary Cahill's proposed move to Chelsea see a reduction in game time? I could spend the money somewhere else on my team but I think it's important to be solid at the back seeing as you are fixed into having at least 3 in defense.

As the captain Terry won't be rotated. Chelsea don't really keep enough clean sheets to justify his 7.5 so you'll have to rely on his decent goal/assist run continuing. However I do think the new bonus system benefits him, as he got 0 last season, wouldn't be because he was unpopular with the PA by any chance?

In summary a decent pick, but if the Cahil deal goes through - Terry at 7.5 or Cahill at 5.2? Equal goal threat too so it's a no brainer.

The Chelsea situation is about to change, never mind Cahill, Michael Essien played 75 mins in a reserve game this week, they always do better defensively when he plays, am looking at Chelsea coverage myself now.

Yeah Essien coming back is huge, unless of course this injury has taken the shine off his game a la Joe Cole. True, Chelsea are much better defensively with Essien in the starting eleven, but I also think they will benefit from Cahill's arrival. Definitely on the Chelsea scouting bus right now. Terry may be a little too pricey...

I actually think hes gonna get away with it.

Contrary to belief the evidence isn't THAT strong. People say he was seen on TV mouthing the words.

'You Black Bast..d'

Terry's defense is he said

'You Blind Bast..d'

If you watch the video it's impossible to tell.

Chelsea are all round better when Essien plays.

It might make other players in the Chelsea line up (let alone JT) worth backing.

I agree Chelsea are much better defensively with Essien. Mainly because he is one of the dirtiest bast..ds in the league.

So, "b*stard" per se is ok as long it is not "white b*stard" or "black b*stard"?

Regarding FPL, if Cahill gets more minutes on the assumption Terry will be banned, Chelsea's defence is full of holes even with Terry and I'm afraid without his could be disaster (for more info, see: "Arsenal, Vermaelen").

For the money I think Vermaleon is a better option. More PPG this season, he should be back from injury next week and there is no risk of a ban. Although Essien will surely strenghten the team, his inclussion does not change the tactics that leave Chelsea wide open in the the back. Thsi is the first season I have zero Chelsea defensive coverage and don't see myself getting any unless Cahil gets regular time simply because he si such a bargain at 5.2
