now calling it a day on fantasy football. As most of you know, I'm not one to say something like this then return and haven't said anything like this before. I've been so so so very lucky and thanks to The Daily Mirror competition, I've now got a wonderful life. I feel blessed and it was a goal of mine to win a fantasy footie prize, funnily not even expecting to win the BIG one! I have been lucky to have known a lot of you and it's been great meeting The Elkmaster. Mephisto and the infamous Dot along the way. In all, me and a few have won 22 National prizes and glad for every one of them that played honestly. Obviously I may play in fun for the future, as what's the fun of a footie match being played and no points on it but , the days of 50+ teams are gone and most importantly it taking over my life. I'm probably making what I can make in a month, or year in fantasy football, in a week, or 2 months in poker. There's times when family comes first and over the last few years, things have gone bad within my family, my mother is terminal and also my brother in law. I've come to terms with their illnesses but it's been a hard and very sad time. I've been fortunate to have become friendly with most of you. From Barry 'The Cage Fighter' to Rui 'Mourinho' Marquez. From the best of the best (top bombing) to those never winning before. It's quite funny, as I know a lot of people have gone to another forum, but always seen this as my fiso friends and foes forum and under pressure, stuck to my guns. I wish every one of you the best of luck and it's time for my family.

I wish you all the luck in the world. I wish Edmo and Bruce the very best of luck in The Sun. I wish Milan to win a big one and stop gobbing off about 7 balling me ....although he never did win a series against me in pool.

I'd love to see Dot win The Sun....the forums would never be the same . Although I will be on here in ghostly fashion, I'd like to thank all the mods for their support (even those banning me )......my language was uncalled for, but better that than getting my old baseball bat and then forever calling someone dink, as the noise it would have made as it hit his face

I also enjoyed participating with the poker boys and think, actually know, I can use my mathematic knowledge and also my game play to pay off the extention I've had done. I expect in 2 years to have made over £80k from now. I'm certainly getting there as lately, I've made a profit of . £20k approx in the last few months alone.

Probably one of the most amazing chaps I've had the pleasure of talking to on here was Leo Reid, someone who I have a lot of respect for. After being lucky enough to pip him for £95k difference, he was the first to congratulate me when coming on here. You are a gent....and amazingly gracious as it was fortunate how it went for me.

For me, the last 5 years has been the time of my life......and thank you all for being part of it.

You're too young to retire yet Darren! You won this in 05/06 with only 5 teams as I remember, so keep your hand in and do some teams for fun as you stated.

Glad to see you're doing well at the poker. I don't play as much as I used to myself. There was a time I'd play 6 nights a week but I'm not able for the late nights theses days. When I have time I play the odd big tourny online, but haven't had much luck lately.

Coincidently, I logged on to pm you about something and saw this post. I had a virus on my pc which resulted in an old hotmail address of mine spamming everyone in my contact list with links to dubious sites. I only found out when my manager at work asked me why I thought she needed help with her sexual virility. So, If you get any such spam mails from 'me' don't open them and delete them asap, incase they have a virus attached.

Thank you guys.....will keep my hand in with The Sun.....I went down the hospital, came back and found the footie not on.....so just played the $250/$500 blinds on full limit.....and tried raising the blinds as 2 others were playing. I had a J4....the player behind raised to $750 and the other called him. Damn, I'm having to call with a J4 for $750. Not the brightest of moves, so called it as only $250 more. Down comes J33 on the flop. 2 spades, so I've gone in $500, one behind calls, put him on aa, kk, qq or as I just played him may be ak as he knew that I'm playing loose......goes to the end and 2 other spades comes on the board, I've got the 4 of spades for the flush and rather than checking, I've gone $500....as if he raises, I will just call. He called with ak with thankfully no spades. Now that's lucky. Won over £3k tonight.....time for bed and relax. Although I do play high, the $250/$500 is scary....... but it won't let me take out over $10,000......luckily I was on $10,313

I try to take £500-£5k at a time, any will do, depending on how brave I feel. Today I felt very brave as why the high stakes. The bloke I beat tonight must be sick of me, CharlieBarnes on Party Poker. Good player but took his stack from $12,500 to $7,122 and beat him before. I play him lower and play loose, if I lose, then higher I go. I skip 2 blind increases, it's how I win

Having spent more time in Derriford in the last month than Ive given to FF, I know where you are at. Regards to your family and
best wishes to them. Congratulations on finding some use for a red hot poker...I keep getting sucked in by those f**king Queens, so for now Ive binned it. Plymouth's been cruel, the burned hand, the awful treatment at Derriford, the anti social neighbours at last gone only to be replaced by others, the failure of The Herald to take up a winning idea (the lack of excepting new ideas here overall). Thankfully the Moor and the worlds best Lido has kept the spirits up particularly in the summer.
Good luck with J4 raising on those limits.
As for FF, I expect you back. Once kissed, it is an extraordinary manager who can say farewell to such a capricious, demanding and exquisite mistress.
