Not sure if this has already been posted… didnt spot it in here. Surprised that it isnt… anyway;

Anyone else aware of this?

I saw someone mentioning it on Facebook the other week and assumed it was just a scam and/or one of those bogus mails ("get paid by Microsoft" sort of nonsense).

But it seems legit. Apple are replacing their first generation iPods. The replacements are like for like i.e. you dont get THE latest nano in place of your 6 year old one.

I am still sceptical that its some sort of ruse… but what the hell, the websites seem legit (its appeared on newspaper websites… and I cant find any google headlines saying its a scam).

Seems you do get the latest one :)

My new Nano arrived this morning.
Sent back a 2Gb nano with about 45mins of battery life, got a brand spanker 8Gb nano in the post this morning.

Took about three weeks for an envelope to come in the post.
I kept hold of it until after Xmas (didn't want it going AWOL); about 6 weeks later my new iPod arrives :)

This is bad news!
I decided to keep my old Nano as it is personalised and the replacement wouldn't be.
Had I known I'd get a new generation replacement sentimentality may well have gone out the window!!

I wonder if it's too late to change my mind.....

Yes mine was personalised too :( but it was never getting used, hidden away in a draw, so I figured what the heck.

Maybe it's just a scam to get them out of the market place. They'll become collectors classics in years to come, worth thousands!

Havent used the new one yet, but not sure on whether it's too small? Guess the touch screen should be ok and not aware of others bemoaning the size.
