Does anyone in FISO-land work in insurance?

I know it's a pretty dull job-title to have (I'm an accountant, join the club), but I need to ask some-one some insurance-type questions without having to phone up loads of insurance people just to answer 200+ of their questions before I can ask one of my own.

It's public liability insurance. Mrs S has her cake-making business & she's just got her quote through for PL insurance. Her turnover was around £800 last year & she's been quoted £136 for this year's premium (which includes £15 for renewing the policy!!)

Having read through the blurb that arrived today, she's being charged for quite a lot of things she doesn't need (since they come under our house insurance), but she does need PL insurance. How much should she be charged for £1m of cover (which includes an excess of £250)?

Are you paying for a block policy?

These are great for some as you get everything in one bundle, but work out expensive for smaller companies.

Have you tried Endsleigh for a quote?
