This thread is intended as a one-stop announcement shop for fantasy football managers to catch up with all official, confirmed news and updates on player absences. Types of absences include:

* Injury
* Suspension
* Personal Leave
* International Duty
* Ineligible to play against parent club
* Loan to a non-Premiership club
* Retirement from Football

No discussion allowed - just news items, with links if at all possible.
Do not reply to individual posts except to make corrections or post further salient details/links.
You should expect posts breaking these rules to be binned without warning. There is a separate thread for gossip and discussion on player absences. Please post all injury, suspension, etc. discussion and gossip there.

FISO's injury (and other absence) table can be found here: http://www.fiso.co.uk/injurytable.php
All FISO members are encouraged to add any missing table entries, for moderator approval. Please include links if at all possible. The more people can do this, the better and more up-to-date the table will be.

FFS' table is also good and can be found here: http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/f ... -injuries/
Physioroom is also worth checking: http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_ ... _table.php
Between the three of these, you can pretty much guarantee all absences will be covered, allthough they will likely disagreee on return dates. Sometimes it can be a bit of a dark art working these out.

Javier Hernandez - "mild concussion" - "out for a couple of weeks"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14318453.stm

(NOTE - that should mean he is Ok for the first league game)

EDIT - a bit more on the club website

".....he probably wouldn't have been playing in a couple of weeks anyway because he's just come back from his break after playing in the Gold Cup for Mexico. He wasn't going to be involved in our team for two or three weeks.”

Arsenal's Abou Diaby confirmed as injured (had ankle op during break) and is due back at end of August (not in 8-10 weeks time as some reports are suggesting).

Arsenal's Theo Walcott is out for ten days with ankle injury so should be fit for the EPL opener.

Liverpool's Pepe Reina had double hernia op in the summer but should also be fit for start of season.

Liverpool (Daily Post) Update

Martin Skrtel likely to miss the start of the season as he continues to struggle with a calf problem. He pulled out of his country’s squad for the friendly against Austria next week.

“I suffered an injury setback on Friday,” said Skrtel. “I felt strong pain in my leg so I am back with the doctors receiving treatment. I really don’t know how long will it take to heal. I am doing my best to be back as soon as possible.”

Dalglish confirmed: “Martin has not joined in with us yet (in training). So we will wait and see.”

Dalglish also revealed Fabio Aurelio has resumed training.

John O’Pies will miss Sunderland’s final friendly at Hibs on Saturday AND the start of the Premier League season.

The Manchester United utility player :? has been recuperating from a hamstring strain suffered in Germany but was expected to play in Sunderland’s final pre-season friendly and be ready for the season’s opener against Liverpool.

But that timetable is now out of the window, with O’Shea still far from 100 per cent fit.

“O’Shea’s still feeling his hamstring,” said assistant manager Eric Black.

“It’s hard to put a date on his return because he’s actually starting to heal pretty well.

“But it’s too soon to say whether it’s going to be two weeks, three weeks, four weeks. It’s hard to tell, but he’s definitely progressing.”

Andy Wilkinson sat out last night's game with a broken toe, while Rory Delap didn't even travel to Croatia.

Pulis added: "Rory has a slight hamstring strain, so we decided not to bring him.

"Wilko has trained for the last couple of days, but if he had got a knock on his toe he could have been out for four or five weeks. We didn't want to take that risk."

Kenny on Liverpool injuries/fitness

Suarez: "He's trained and has no problem. We'll wait and see how he is tomorrow.

We'll also see how Glen Johnson is in the morning.

"Obviously Steven (Gerrard) and Martin Skrtel aren't there and they are the only two. Everyone has come back from the international matches fine."
