Worth a reminder on this thread that the automatic 1 game suspension for 5 yellows does not apply for cards received after Dec 31st. It used to be end of February but they changed it a year or two ago. Those on 4 yellows only have 10 days to be good. 10 yellows = 2 cards carries on for a few months yet.

Are you sure (evidence?) it won't carry over to the next game?

http://www.canaries.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~2554706,00.html

fwiw, i was at the game last night and it was a genuine booking in the 1st half rather than terrys timewasting throw antics the other week

Not sure whether the FA were confirming that he had reached 5 yellows, or that he'd miss the Spurs game, but I've emailed my contact in the disciplinary office and he is lucky, it is the Spurs game. It's the same if a player gets injured, he still misses the next available game(s) of his club.

Apart from the West Brom players, everyone else on 4 yellows only has to behave for one more game before the threat of suspension is lifted. As yet there are no EPL players on 9 yellows, but there must be some getting close. Full details for both Prem and Championship are at www.bramernic.com/fsports/bansoon.php.

Arry on Spurs injuries last night

"Sandro tore a calf - that will be a long one.
Gallas's looks like a calf too. They'll have scans on Wednesday."

----------------

In case anybody is living under a rock and missed it, yesterday Liverpool decided not to appeal Suarez's 8 game ban. It started with last night's game and at least 3 of the banned games will be cup games.

----------------

Another reminder, now it is New Year, players will no longer get an automatic ban on reaching 5 yellows.

BBC say up to 6 weeks. Moyes quote confirms he is out but not for how long.

"Leon Osman has a floating bone in his knee which we think will have to be taken out," he said.

"We have a few other injuries kicking around as well - Tim Cahill, Ross Barkley (knee) and Jack Rodwell (hamstring).

I was planning to bring Jarvis in as part of my WC, but wasn't sure with him having a doubtful marker. Mick McCarthy has thankfully relaxed any fears about the injury...

..."I expect a positive response to this and there will be changes on Saturday," he said.

"It will be a different team that plays against Villa.

"If I haven't got everyone fit for the game then of course there will be others considered.

"Hopefully we'll have the ones available who were out tonight but all the players need to support each other because it's a big, important game.

"I think I'll certainly have Roger and Foles and Jarvo but Dave Edwards is probably the bigger doubt of them all."

According to live commentary on the Sun v Arsenal FA Cup match:

Laurent Koscielny only out for about 1 week

Per Mertesacker has had an op on his ankle and out for the season

Jack Wilshere maybe less than a month away from his return

Also Francis Coquelin hobbled off after 15 mins with what looks like a pulled hamstring.

Stoke City’s Rory Delap has had his claim for wrongful dismissal upheld.

As a result, the three-match suspension handed to him has been withdrawn with immediate effect.
