And of course both teams have Furyk in too, so much for carrying two transfers over this week

Lots of Jim Furyk exposure here. Think only 1 of my 3 remaining matchplay teams has him though.

I think my matchplay opponent is a FISO lurker - he's just benched Furyk

Worst is, that my wife, second overall, has Furyk, and just wasted the last transfer minutes before this announcement

It's likely that they had set a first reserve, in which case these would have been activated at around this time...

They did (Kuchar) . This probably explains why Kuchar is in and they no longer have anyone on the bench as first reserve.

Kenny Perry withdrew very late on Wednesday evening from the Deutsche Bank Championship.

Perry told Tour officials that he was suffering from exhaustion as the reason for his withdrawal.

I don't imagine many (make that anyone) would have picked Kenny this week.

He's never been quite the same player since Cabrera snatched the Masters from him out of the trees.

Head cold, chest infection & fever - 'hopeful' of playing next week and replaced in France by Damien Perrier. With Westwood and Hanson neither 100% at present, could this be an opening for Casey (especially if he wins this week in the US)???

Not wishing that bad luck on anyone, but if you had to select a potential weak link in the Europe side, it would be Hanson for me. If we could bring Casey in as a replacement that would be a formidable line-up.

From Westwood's comments after today's (splendid) round and, whilst he's not made any decision yet, sounds like he's odds on to be taking a break to let the calf fully recover. Said he started feeling it again after about 9 holes and he can't go out and practice after the round and he wants it to be 110%. Guess it just depends when he feels the best period is to take another break.
