I was looking at GW24 as well, but I think it'll have to be GW23 because, as you say, there will simply be more time for price rises to take effect.

I think I am going to go for GW23 as well. Was tempted to do it this week as my team is looking a bit ragged at the moment but want to wait until after 4 of the big guns play each other this week. Will be happy of this weeks team just keeps pace with my superleague rivals.

One of my main rivals wildcarded last week and has a forward line of Yakubu and Adebayor and also lost 10-20 points on the others. Oh, how I chuckled to myself

I wanted to wait till 24 but it looks liek my hand is forced due to injuries and the lack of points I expect from my City, Tottenham and Man U players this week. I could potentially hold on for a bit longer but suspect I will have to take a -8 point hit to field a team so might as well use it.

GW23 to take advantage of the more favourable fixtures than GW22

I was always thinking of doing it for GW24 fixtures but the teamsheets are a big draw.

However I'll have at least two of each from Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs as well as RVP and Nani so I'll have a solid side for GW23. I think I'll have a back-up wildcard team for GW23 just incase the team sheets throw up a lot of surprises. Unlikely to be the case though.

My team is still looking good so I'll hold off until the last week - unless I get some injuries.

I have three free transfers between now and the GW23 deadline so my team should be in reasonable shape. GW24 wildcard still the plan 8-)

I wanted to use it in the last week, but maybe I should go early? :?

Originally had intended GW24. Now planning for GW23, largely because GW24 fixtures are just as friendly to my postWC squad as to my current squad.

Here is what I have settled on (95% sure anyway)

GK- Sorrenson, Mignolet
D-Richards, R Taylor, Shotten, Kelly, (Either Senderos or Taylor for SWA)
MF-Silva, Bale, Mata, Sessignon, Sigurdson
F-RVP, Torres, Morrison

I know, I know...big risk on Torres but need the differential and if it doesn't pan out I cna dump him prior to Man U game to strengthen defense. Im worried about the next to weeks in my defense but couldn't find any cheapies that worked out. Thoughts?

Lmaoooo how did you fail to qualify for the fantasy cup ?1?!?!?!

Risky team by the way. I wouldn't say Sigurdsson will start every game and and your defence is full of rotation risks.

Sorenson/Mingolet seems to be popular but do they rotate well? They're both at home this week.
Shotton missed out this week injured. Some people say Fulham are cr*p defensively. Kompany is better than Richards. Apart from that can't fault the defence.
Is Mata really that good? Sigurdsson not playing every week so far, probably better with one of the other Swans mids.
RvP a given. Torres is a huge gamble, but you know that. Morrison is budgie sc_um and if he wasn't, I'd probably have him!
Man U will definitely have a good run-in, they always do, and you have no exposure.

GK rotation is good through the first 5 weeks
Last report was shotten would be fit for this weekend, agree about fulham but home to Newcastle and WBA ove the next 2 seem like they could hang on to the CS, Richards gets forward more so although Kompany is better i think there is more potential reward for Richards.
Mata was a question for me but I think Chelseas fixtures are golden over the next 5 weeks (exception of Man U). Sigurdson started the second half and looked fantastic, takes corners and slotted for most free kicks. He will be a regular starter surely. It was between him and Dyer...took the gamble.
I picked up Phil Jones as my first ever Man U player because of the personal hatred...Got him in on week 15 and since then he has scored 7 points over 7 games!!!! No Man U players again, ever!

Looking at last weeks fixtures, most people should have had a lot of players playing at home, barring Arsenal and Spurs. I know I had 9 of my starting XI anyway. I'm gonna ride out this week, even though a lot are away they're not bad fixtures, then have them all at home again in GW23 before wild carding GW 24 so as not to have them all away again or in future.

Thar's the plan anyway.

Originally had a plan to WC for GW24... and sticking with it :D

I have BAE, Bale, Ade, Enrique, Sess and from GW24 onwards, at least Spurs, Liverpool and Sunderland's fixtures take a turn for the worst.
The transfer window will be fully shut, so won't be stung by last minute transfer deals
Some early kickoffs for GW23 and we'll know several lineups before the deadline - so can take a 1 GW punt depending on which players end up starting; then ship out with Wild Card
I have a strong 11 for GW23 so it just makes overall sense for me to wait until GW23 deadline has passed and then activate it.
Plus, I used my first WC very early, so want this one to stand me a good chance of lasting me until the end of the season

For me WCing for GW24 is definitely the best time to use it, unless your team is in a bit of a state.

with 23 wildcard you get transfer window all but shut, more time for risers and the big teams team sheets before the deadline

But the turn of fixtures for at least 3 teams is significant IMO. I'll likely give Sess his next 2 games, play BAE, Ade, Bale vs Wigan, and there's also Man U players. After STOKE they have:
Chelsea LIVERPOOL Norwich Spurs which is overall a tough mini-run. Certain players such as Valencia can be transferred out and brought back in with I believe will be little more.

I've looked at possible pros and cons and still think the final chance is a clear better time to use it, if your side is currently good.

Another plus, is your rivals can't check your WC team out and copy your moves with their Jan WC - which has happened to me this season.

Yeah, the week and a bit more is the clincher for me. Out of my 15, I can use these as 'outs':

Evan 4.5
Shawcross 5.1
Walcott 8.8
Walters 6.7
-------------
STotal 25.1
Bank 0.5
-------------
GTotal 25.6

Alot of money to play with to make profit. Is it confirmed that only 3 rises are allowed per GW for a given player?
