Nice work. I used to know somebody who worked for a local publication which used to run regular competitions, and she said the uptake was often so low it was silly. Now, I can't say that the entry list is low for the NCG comps, but I reckon always worth a bash.

Jonathan may be interested in them as I hear that his arent up to much and you can throw them a reasonably long way

Besides, if The Belfry don't get their arse into gear, I could be needing them after all!

Sweet 8-) Couldn't remember what the prize was exactly, was thinking about getting a new Driver soon anyway. I know MD aren't a perticularly well known brand but they always get very, very good reviews.

£240 8-) :D

Hopefully I'll get them prior to the Annual :D

Hopefully you can compare it to my Nicklaus Drawback then, too  Who needs big brand clubs (apart from irons, of course)

Well done Adrian,

There always seems to be some cracking prizes on the NCG site. Even better when they give you the answer to the questions!

Spoke to them this morning and have ordered the following

Driver 12 degrees
5 Wood 18 degrees
Hybrid 21 degrees

Right handed, stiff shafts

Should take 2-3 weeks to arrive from Northern Ireland

Congratulations.

I've been entering these comps for years and haven't even won a book that I'd never read.

Well done and enjoy the clubs.

Well done Adrian, hope they work for you. Wouldn't the orange shafts be better suited to Jonathan, it would make it easier for him to find his club in the undergrowth. :D

I throw a little itchy pitching wedge a couple of inches, and it just won't get forgotten will it! Hardly a Jackobsen or Stenson moment!

very nicely, all 3 went into the bag for a Society day on Wednesday (36 points off 25 - finished 3rd). All 3 are easy to hit and fizz through the air nicely. The Driver is probably 10-20 yards shorter than my Nike (shorter shaft, extra loft - 12 degrees makes it more of a 2 wood than a Driver) but has much less dispersion, head is smaller and shallower so I need to tee it lower.

All 3 need a bit more range work to build trust and work on the best ball position to get the most from each club. The 3 clubs they replaced were Driver, baby hybrid & 8 Iron. Driver - obviously don't need 2 and accuracy beats distance, baby hybrid - I prefer 5 or 6 Iron so rarely use it anyway. 8 Iron - I don't really use the 8I preferring to hit either an easy 7 or a hard 9.

In the bag now - 12' Driver, 15' 3 wood, 18' 5 wood, 21' hybrid, 4I, 5I, 6I, 7I, 9I, PW, 52' GW, SW, 60' LW, Putter
