Frequency of David as a surname:

United Kingdom (current) less than 0.001%
    United Kingdom (in 1881) 0.010%
    United States 0.014%
    Australia 0.010%

Meaningless in own case as custom/heritage is patronymic, the children taking father's first name as surname.
Iceland, Denmark and other Scandinavian nations still use the patronymic naming system.
And until the Middle Ages so did Britain, especially Wales.

Shouldn't the Singh's and Patels be playing fantasy Cricket and the Jones, Williams, Davies and Thomas's be playing fantasy Rugby and the Brown's be playing fantasy Prime minister.

I traced my mothers family back to 1748, and there is something that is quite amazing about it regarding the male heirs. Here is an extract to show you what I mean.

William Dickson, Married: Margaret Hamilton, in July 1748
Son: Thomas Dickson, Married: Isobel McGhie in 1781
Son: John Dickson, Married: Helen Gardiner in 1800
Son: Archibald Dickson, Born: 20 July 1809 married: Janet Adams in 1835
Son: Thomas Dickson, Coal Miner. Born: 1835 in Cambusnethan Village
Son: David Dickson, Nail Works Labourer, Born: 1864 in Academy Street, Wishaw

Son: Thomas Dickson, Craneman Born: 1886, of Glasgow Road, Wishaw (my Mum's Dad) had two Sons (my Uncles), David Dickson and Alexander Dickson.

Alexander had three sons (my Cousins) Thomas, David and John,
My Cousin Thomas had two sons, David and John.

Oh, and my name ... John of course :D

I never spotted that before :D The other thing that came out in the research was that they never married anybody from outside their own Parish. The furthest they seemed to travel in those days to find a bride was about 3 miles, of course there would be no motor cars then, and you would have to walk or cycle everywhere.

Seems like you need to breed in Australia, you need to inpregnate your cousins.

Sorry, I'm not into those kinds of things.

Couldn't find any results for Mr. Mohican. :|

Mr. Smoketoomuch doesn't register either, so I guess he must have snuffed it. :(
