For me I've used 5 in one team and 6 in the other - however starting with Rafael in both didn't help matters.

Was wondering how this compares to everyone else? Have the people at the top been getting there by blitzing through their transfers to do so well or did you just pick a good starting 11 (rooney/aguero)?

With 30 transfers for a seaon of roughly 40 gameweeks I'm guessing 5-7 transfers is about the right amount to have used after 9 weeks?

I can't see many contributing to this thread to show their hand but I'll offer mine to start off discussion.

Both of my teams were the same at the start, I've used 4 in each, to ship Malouda/N'Zogbia and Riise when he was injured with Senderos and then back to Riise so it should only be 2. Many at the top could have captained Silva/Rooney/Aguero week in week out so I think some at the top will have used very few transfers still, unless some panic swapped Dzeko, Suarez or RVP, or brought in RVP, VDV, Mata, Adebayor, Sturridge? When Villa, Fulham, Stoke and Newcastle cleansheets start disappearing and City, United, Liverpool and especially Chelsea cleansheets start appearing things could get interesting. It's more about when the early big hitters stop firing, can you see Silva drying up? I can't .....unless Mancini starts resting him for much needed CL wins, which is a possibility, if only slight.

Remember last season though when Drogba, Malouda, Nani, VDV and Nasri (Arsenal) were tearing it apart early on? Things changed dramatically so I wouldn't go panic buying the early big hitters, transfers are vital to last the duration, as are the right captain choices.

Captain choices are so important, if used well they can help make up for poor transfers

Between 5-7, can't remember the exact number. Paid off thus far as i've climbed to top 450 from around 2000 ish I think. Usually I peak too early in this game (made top 10 once or twice in my time) and trail off after a while, so playing it a tad bit more careful with transfers this season. Defense will need some reshuffling soon enough though.

I am not enjoying this game anywhere near as much as when you could see everybodies teams and transfers made.

Anyway, my worst performing team (72,186th overall ) has used 3 transfers and my best team (2,855th overall) has used 6 transfers.

Too busy admiring my own score I think. It was seven transfers and a lucky 413th position. Target is top 100 by the end of the season and to master the art of maths/English.

can't agree more, completely changed the game. think it will have more effect towards end of season though. clearly a disadvantage to show your team this year though so can't see many making them viewable, especially those in a strong position.

same here... only time I've done well i was about 10,000th at Christmas time hand having not paid attention and still with most of my transfers left to storm up the leaderboard 2nd half of season . since then iv Been too keen from the start, tinkering with my team each week, starting well and the quickly dropping of into the distance.

as teams start playing two games a week in 2nd half of season transfers are much more useful then than now.

I've used 15. I guess that's too much.

I am top 200 though

1st time playing this for me but I've used 24 out of 25 available. So only 6 left for the season!

But I'm 182 points clear in my mini league and about 782nd overall.

No i'll save these for any injuries during the rest of the season (and Suarez ). As long as I win my mini league I'll be happy.

How's everyone doing for transfers?

I currently have 9 left, gutted I missed Gerrard yesterday. Had I not been watching my beloved NFFC to yet another defeat I am sure I would have transferred him in.....

Now on 7. Put Kuyt and not Gerrard in yesterday so a really inspired move Seem to be getting worse at this game every year.

I've got 8 transfers too,on my team in 21st.
There are with the rearrangements 6 days of football in May. Hopefully time to have some fun rotating strikers.

As El Tel says get rotating those strikers, most people above you will be down to bare bones so if bring the right ones in you might be able to reach top 100, good luck
