I'm playing catch up in my mini league and i'm sure not many teams have Rooney so i'm trying to get him in. Can anyone see a possible way of managing it without being too drastic and messing up a currently decent team? Want to hang on to Aguero.

Hart
Richards, Walker, Enrique
Silva, Bale, Ben-Arfa, Valencia, Mata
Van Persie, Aguero

0.9m in the bank.

The way Rooney's playing at the moment, those without him are the lucky ones. As you say, that's a (very) decent team. It's hard to justify dropping any of them to buy a player in patchy form. Save your transfers to cover injuries and to make the most of bonus games.

What he says. But....

If you must get Rooney then it is obvious how it must be done - sacrificing other decent players. i.e. being drastic.

A straight swap for RVP or Aguerro is one obvious way, the other is to shift out at least 2 decent midfielders (you do the maths - does 2 decent midfielders + 0.9m allow Rooney + cheapo?)

Apparently Rooney hasn't trained all week and is rated a serious doubt for tomorrow.

If it's any help, you can delay your decision using a transfer by switching Aguero to Rooney on 4 Feb (Utd play twice before City play again).

Interesting info on Rooney there. I'm relatively sure that my league leader hasn't got Welbeck and if he continues to start games he will have 4 games to two advantage over Ageuro (one game being away to normally solid at home, barring the Man Utd game offcourse, Fulham).

Can anyone see Van Persie playing on sunday v Villa? If he doesn't then Welbeck will have 2 games before Arsenal play on the 4th. Also if he doesn't play then Defoe could be another good call but will Defoe play against Wigan on the 3rd, if he doesn't then i'd only get one game from him before Van Persie plays on the 4th.

I need to be really clever with extra fixtures, i need to make it count!

how desperate is your plight? i.e. how many points behind at this stage?

65 points behind with 12 transfers (2 more than the leader) and i'm 10 points behind 2nd in 6th place.

Ben Arfa is the only player i can replace and reinstate to gain an extra 2 games. Would this be worth using 2 transfers for though? A permanent transfer would mean only gaining one game, again is this worth it? It would leave me 4.3m to use and these teams to choose from;

Chelsea- a QPR a Swansea. Both away
Man Utd- a Liverpool h Stoke. Both tough.
Stoke- a Derby a Man Utd. Both away and some players rested.
Swansea- a Bolton h Chelsea. Tough again but seems to be the better fixtures.

Upon research there seems to be a lack of stand out players, apart from the players i have already that is! I'm being swayed into thinking there isn't enough potential reward into making a move.

Maybe i should sit tight and wait until an obvious solution arises.........

A more obvious solution arised this week as in came O'shea and Sessegnon for Richards and Ben Arfa. It has worked out well so far. The only problem i face now on catching up on my league leaders is Dempsey's not included in my team but is in theirs. Dilemma. As most teams are quite similar do i adopt the 'must put him in to avoid their advantage' soluton or 'do i keep away from the duplicate situation' and risk it. Do i dare change an already strong midfield, will Dempsey really make that much difference?

Valencia, Sessegnon, Bale, Silva, Mata and 1.1m to play with.

Based on current scoring the obvious move is Silva out but really?

Any ideas welcome!
